Clover is doing exceptionally well this year. Seems like we’ve had the perfect weather conditions for growing this year so far.

It's been a clover kind of year. It's rained about every other day since last August.

It’s interesting, our fawn numbers are down again. No twins, and 1/2 the fawns I’d expect to see given deer numbers. In some ways it’s a blessing....we had way too many deer on us last fall/early winter because of the poor acorn crop. Bears and coyotes appear fat and healthy.....

I haven’t been able to get out and do much on the farm lately, but I did get out today and till up one of my fields that I’m putting some brassicas in. I love how freshly tilled field looks. If things go well I’ll be planting tomorrow. IMG_0693.JPG

On a different note, my target deer from last year is still alive. Along with him there is two other shooter 8 points that are showing up on camera. Should be a good year.

Best time of year - seeing what they've grown in to!!! Looking good, some nice stickers!!. I will say the more I learn about aging deer on the hoof - the harder I think it is.

The brassica plot that I put in last week is doing well with the good amount of rain we’ve been getting.

Brassicas can’t possibly grow in that plot, you don’t have enough rocks:). The rain has been unreal this summer. I’m hoping we get a couple more soaking rains before temps start to fall.

It would scare you if I told you how many tons of rocks I’ve picked from just this one small 0.25 acre plot. It seems like the more I pick, the more show up the next year. I know I’m preaching to the choir as I’m sure you have the same issues in the Catskills where you’re located.

If anybody needs some rock growing tips, I’m your guy.

Food and buck crops seem to be coming along good for you. Good luck with both.

I got a few free hours today to do some tilling and hope to get this planted tomorrow if the stars align.

your tiller does a nice job - I'm thinking about a used one as well - would be great for that type of plot.
