Good catch, MIDNIGHT WIND, you're musical tastes are all over the place. I'll confess, I wasn't much of a metalhead/thrasher guy but since I bought my new ride with 6 months of Sirius, Ozzie's Boneyard has taken over.

Credit to my late father for my alt country/southern rock loves like CDB, MTB, etc...John Prine, too. Midnight Wind, Saddle Tramp, and Full Moon are my fave CDB albums. And when I hear them [or Marshall Tucker or John Prine] I'm immediately back in my dad's vehicle, it's 1978, and we're zipping up and down mountain roads on the way to a weekend of hunting or fishing in Appalachia. Memories.

Another old fave of mine is "Fandango" by ZZ Top. The song Mexican Blackbird is sooooo underrated. "They all call her puta, 'cause no one really knows her name. She works a cantina, dancing and loving's her trade....ya'll drive on down to Mexico, boyyyyy."

I would have to add Fire On The Mountain, Night Rider, Million Mile Reflections, and Way Down Yonder/Whiskey, to the list.

"Keep your hands on the wheel", "Give me another one of them brews from back there", "Lets drive this old Chrysler down to Mexico boys".

There will never be another Ronnie or Duane.

PS Let's raise a glass to your late Father.

Props to you if you have the willpower to pass on that stud. He may have more potential next year but I'm not sure I could wait to see if he was broadside at 30 yards. Lol

My brother in law thinks I'm crazy to not shoot on sight (and maybe seeing him in person will change my mind!), but talking to Baker and others over the past couple of years really makes me want him to reach absolute peak physical maturity. Maybe he's 5.5 and already there, but maybe that's 6.5 and next year he will be a once in a lifetimer. I think there is a reasonably good chance that if I don't shoot him this year, he will survive. But he could cross the highway and get shot or hit by a car.

I also have a better food plot plan figured out that I think will improve his nutrition/diet next growing season. Decisions decisions.

Yep, youre BIL is a smart man! Hope to see a pic of him, sam, and your truck..

Saw him in person tonight. He's huge. Please make it one more year. Please please please.

He's still alive. He was out in broad daylight this morning. I was at a stand about 200 yards away.

I put the corn out last week because I'm trying to gradually get the deer used to a new gravity feeder right there. The 4x4 post went in last week, the rest will go in when the coon guard arrives. I'm tired of feeding so many raccoons.

He shed his antlers this week. Wish I could go find them, but it's impossible in the local habitat.

What a great deer. You made the right call on passing him up last year. He was one of those deer that look good in the right picture but just a nice 8 point in others. He's an absolute hog now with the extra stickers and points!

Honestly, even if you never see him again or someone else gets him, you have the satisfaction of seeing what he became. Well done!

Dandy of a deer!!! Glad he made it and you gave him one more chance to show you what he's got. Hope you get to ground check him in the near future.

That's a slob for SC! Great looking buck and really shows that big deer are everywhere if you give them a chance to put on a few extra years.

Ah, ya see what happened? He added some trash. Won't score for beans now. Might as well give him one more year to straighten it out.
