The only things I know about bears is what I’ve heard from other hunters who are familiar with them. They tear crap up ! I would be worried they would do the same with a feeder. I think that they are like hogs, and I’m glad we don’t have them.

Oh, and welcome to the forum !

I don't have to deal with them at our place, but they guys that do say to do these two things:

Get your feeder as high up as you can, high enough that they can not reach it.

Use Soybeans instead of Corn. For some reason they do not seem to like it as much and the deer will still eat it.

Other than that not much you can do.

You can train your deer to eat oats, bears don't like oats. You have to mix the oats with shelled corn to get started.

Interesting. I've never heard this trick before but it plays along the same as the Soybeans. You have to mix it with Corn to get them sarted eating it as well.

If you don’t want bear then have no corn whatsoever. Even for camera survey. They will eat till they puke then eat again. I’ve got up to 7 bear on my hundred depending on year and once I decided to quit the corn game most don’t hang around.
Overrated as to bear always tearing up chit. Once they become accustomed to your scent they seldom tear much up. I’ve had them sit at 20 yds watching as I changed camera card.
Of course I seldom go to stand in pitch dark as standing a few yards from momma can be a bit unnerving and butt puckering. Good luck.

No corn on the place for two years. This summer a bear randomly tore down some wire circles and small trees that weren't bearing fruit yet. Yes they are like arabs, always bent on just tearing stuff apart.
