Bareroot or Potted?

New question; which one tends to be more successful... bareroot or potted? Will be planted in an orchard setting and watered for their first summer.

I've had good luck with both, but prefer potted. Assuming they haven't been root-bound for a year.

Last year around March we dug up some apple trees a local cider business didn’t want and free of charge. They were 5-8 feet tall and we dug up the root ball, shook all the dirt off and planted them like that. We planted 45 and we had 43 of them make it and grow fantastic this summer.

By far the best success we have had transplanting any trees other than white pines using the same method
