Acorn crop in central Oklahoma

I don't know what it was exactly that happened, i know it's got to be weather related though. Our native oaks, Post, & Blackjack (cross timbers region) did not produce acorns, very few if any. The last couple of years they have been outstanding crops. I've been going up to my lease in Kingfisher county about 65 miles NW of OKC and they don't have any either.
I wanted to bring this up because if you are hunting an oak woodlot in central Ok, you may want to look for another food source because the acorns are scarce. If you find a tree that is loaded put a stand up. Whats weird is Sawtooth oak & Shumard & Red are producing like crazy. It pays to have a lot of diversity in mast crops. I live 3 blocks away from the North Canadian River and the deer are coming all the way up in our neighborhood to eat acorns. I've lived in this house for 23 years and never seen anything like that.
At my place in Eastern OK they are fine and producing normally.
Strange year.

NE Oklahoma they are actually dropping early...we typically don't see red oak drop for a couple weeks from now and post oaks hang until November but this year everything is dropping now and has been for awhile! Huge acorn crop this year!

Yeah I saw that at my place at Eastlake (Tenkiller). I will be up there next weekend, I found a chinkapin in the woods next to me. I plan on getting some acorns from that, but I've never seen a year this bad in central OK.

I am huntin Eastlake right now...4 does and a shooter buck so far...no shot offered by buck...acorns dropping all around me...

Okie, next time you are out there stop by my place if you have time. I'm east of the golf course but before you get to the Blackgum Mountain Volunteer Fire Dept.
Tan trailer home with black shutters on the north side of Eastlake Rd. / N4550 Rd. it sits back off the road a ways. I have a pontoon boat covered with a gray tarp setting out there.
If you see a white ford pickup there, I'm there.
