I hear that. Spent all day Saturday and half sunday in a stand this last weekend and only saw a pair of bobcats, some ducks and a couple of squirrels.

I spent part of the afternoon putting up a new stand in the north end of our place. From that stand I can cover the old trying to get it to go back to nature clover plot that still holds a lot of clover and I can cover a good bit of what I was watching this morning in the woods with a rifle. I will hunt out of it one day next week with rifle.

Lots of action today. Saw several bucks and including two chasing a doe right a dark. The dinky two year old had a deep grunt!

Got trapped in the tree. Only been down about 20 minutes now because I tried to wait them out. 7 doe...at least I didn’t have far to walk. Bow is still hanging in the tree. Lol

Had a single doe come through and a few minutes later a 130ish 8 point trailing her. Had one smaller buck earlier and that is all so far this morning.

I’m back in the tree. The woods busted open this morning. Temps in the 20s and the deer were moving. I got down to help dad with one of our more mature bucks. Biggest neck I’ve seen in a while.





I saw more does running through the timber than I could count and some nice deer. Just can’t catch up with the one I’m after.

Finally back in my favorite stand. We’ve had really high tides this week so the marsh has an inch or 2 of water on it.

Rockin and rollin this afternoon! Wind is blowing pretty good, but it’s not too bad in the timber. I’m glad I’m strapped in though. Hunting a buddy’s place, bedding south and food north, should be easy, right? We’ll see...

Thanks everyone. Getting close to the golden hour. I’m going to have to do some cleanup around this stand this winter. The EAB has killed almost every ash tree around and many of them are on the ground now. Might be why the majority of the deer traffic is above me.
