Got 24 coon traps out as of this afternoon. I feel like it’s Christmas Eve all over again. Will post updates tomorrow morning.

Cutman - you had a good check day. Congrats - the turkeys will appreciate that nesting time.

Killing the coons! We put traps out at the beginning of November and around Christmas for a week or so. This year we also caught more coons that we EVER had at 10-12. Couple foxes, 2 coyotes but no bobcats this year.

The whole state of SC has been a mud hole since December.

Indiana has been terrible trapping due to mud. Hard to keep anything but a snare working. I had 25-30 yotes last year at this time, compared to 12 this year.

I have just run a few traps on my place since new year. Wettest year on record, keep the sets working without a lot of maintenance by using peat moss. 5 fox and skunk so far. I'm not sure if I will put out a few coon sets after the current front moves through. Boar gland lure is really effective on picking up large males now that they're rutting.
