the top never collapsed, it was the sides. the blind was screwed down to platform where tent stakes would normally go. not sure how we could stake out the side hubs like you can when its on the ground.

hi folks my hunting partner and i put up some elevated platforms this season, we put box blinds on 2 and on one we used a primos xxl popup. for those who do the same, how do you keep the blind from collapsing in windy conditions? the wind collapsed 2 sides and snapped the poles. thanks ken

found in the opposite rib cage on my most recent harvest. 12 gauge remington copper expanders. shot was approximately 130 yards, my range finder was acting wonky that morning so m not positive of yardage.

being in illinois we are unfortunately limited in weapon choice. i would prefer my savage trophy hunter in 308 winchester but cant use it . so i shoot a mossberg 930 slugster in 12 gauge. next year im going to get a savage 110 apex in 400 legend since we can now use straight wall chambered rifles.

not to brag or nothing but ive never needed a follow up shot. my hunting partner says “your gunnery sgt. would be proud”. 😂 that being said i agree except its still slower being it has to be a single shot firearm.

we used carpet squares i got from work….they were replacing carpet and tossing the old stuff. rubber backed indoor/outdoor carpet, 2’x2’ squares and best of all it was FREE!!

minimum is .45 caliber for muzzle loaders so thats an option.

i would have to check that, but i dont believe we can use smokeless powder muzzle loaders. i believe the minimum is .50 caliber. again, i need to check.

hi being in illinois im limited to straight wall cartridge single shot rifles, muzzle loaders or shotgun slugs. considering getting a rifle chambered in .350 legend and wondering if anyone here uses this caliber on whitetails? thanks

i have grave’s disease, thyroid was killed off several years ago with radioactive iodine instead of surgical removal. thats why i take the levothyroxine. i drink either bottled or filtered water.

the biggest size they make dont fit my size 14 boots🤪 i take levothyroxine for the thyroid. my hunting partner uses a heated vest, maybe thats the way to go. ill look into those

thanks those were the ones i was looking at trying. i dont want to overheat my feet, just keep them at a comfortable temp.

havent asked doctor about it. ever since i remember my feet get cold. real problem as i see it is that my feet sweat, then socks get damp and then my feet get cold. i will ask the docs though. could be a thyroid issue too now that you mentioned circulatory issues. i do have thyroid issues.
