    Soil updates, need advice

I did the same thing as far as researching the use of gypsum a couple years ago and seem to remember it wasn't worth the effort. I have some soil that gets rock hard when it dries but I've been using a pretty diverse cool season mix and this year I'm going to plant a mix that has sorghum Sudan...

Where do you get bulk gypsum? I can't seem to find any dealers locally.

    Atv spreader problem

The spreader I have is 9 years old. While using it yesterday the motor suddenly slowed down. I was spreading fertilizer at the time so I thought maybe there was some corrosion. I cleaned it and sprayed the rotor with pb blaster. When I turn it on, it tries to turn but very slowly. Is it most...

spraying clover and chicory food plot help

The weed wiper will be your best bet for horse weed. You said it’s not a huge problem now but if you had one plant go to seed last year it will be everywhere soon. It’s gly resistant and also resistant to raptor and pursuit (slay). Nasty weed. Dicamba in the weed wiper will take care of it...

    Herbicide basics for food plots

I don’t have it in our plots, luckily, but Basagran is supposed to control it.

    Herbicide basics for food plots

It depends on what weeds youre targeting. If the grass you’re wanting to look is a cool season grass, you can spray the Cleth any day the temp is over 50 degrees or so. The warner the better. I assume you’re talking about warm season grass and broadleaf weeds. Regardless, weeds need to be fairly...

    Kansas deer management assistance program

Not sure what you mean. Dmap is property specific so a landowner can only kill more does than the general rules allow if the biologist says it’s needed.

    Kansas deer management assistance program

Does Kansas have one? We have one in Arkansas and it’s pretty good. I hunt some ground in Kansas and the landowner is interested in doing some habitat work. Trying to get him into the eqip program but that takes time and a lot of paperwork

    Covert cameras and iPhones

Covert responded to my email. The videos aren’t sent through the app. The only way to view the videos is to pull the sd card. Unfortunately the camera is in Kansas and I’m back in Arkansas. I can change the setting though so the camera takes pictures.

    Covert cameras and iPhones

Anyone know how to view videos sent to an iPhone through the app? I can't view them on my Mac, either. I know apple products can be a little funny at times. I couldn't find anything in the owner's manual.

    Herbicide basics for food plots

Check the labels but I believe those two chemicals are not to be mixed with each other. Doing so reduces their strength. People do it all the time, though, so that may not be your problem. Are you sure the grasses that aren't killed are actually grasses? They may be nutsedge...

    Herbicide basics for food plots

I don't think there's any evidence to justify a huge concern about using these chemicals correctly (following the label precisely). Although I did see an article recently about some possible danger from using glyphosate, but I haven't read the article yet. If you're going to no-till just use...

    Forage soybeans

I think you may be too far north, but the one plot that didn't get much deer use didn't happen to be infested with sugar cane aphids, did it? I didn't grow any milo this year because the aphids pretty much wiped us out the year before.

    Forage soybeans

I haven't noticed a lot of usage of the pods on our place but we have a lot of wheat, durana clover, and tillage radish. It also depends on your deer numbers but if you have a pretty good stand of beans, 30 bushels/ac is over 1500 lbs of beans. The eagle pods shatter more easily than ag beans...
