    Powering Cuddeback CuddeLink Home Receiver

Have you tried the dual power bank or the 3358 D cell external packs? My remote cameras run 150 to 180 on the external pack before it goes dead and switches to the cameras internal batteries.

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

There's a great 86 page thread about Cuddelink cameras on Habitat Talk. Pretty much any question you would have has been answered. http://habitat-talk.com/index.php?threads/cuddebacks-cuddelink.7859/

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

That's the same system I've been running. It worked great until there was a good canopy of leaves. Cameras that were on the edges of fields getting good sunlight ran forever but anything in the woods wasn't getting enough charge from solar to make a difference so I unplugged and took off the...

I bought 2 packs of larger panels from Harbor Freight for $20 and put 12v batteries with regulators in small plastic ammo boxes. I put them as high as I could reach in the tree and the deer didn't seem to notice them. The problem with any solar system though is in the woods during the...

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

You can run an external battery without batteries in the camera but you'll get more life with the rechargeables in it too. Just make sure you have a 9V regulator.

I went through several variations of chargers and batteries with J series. What I know for sure is if you run an external battery source and use anything but rechargeables in the camera it will fry the batteries. The best combination I found was a larger solar panel running to an external 12V...

I had 5 J series. Cuddeback support told me they run on 9 volts.

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

I already had 5 from some HME 12v battery packs with built in solar panels I used with Stealth Cams so it was just easier for me than getting new 6v batteries. If you’re good with a soldering iron the HME units have a circuit board with a flat 3 prong 12v regulator soldered in. You can remove...

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

I used the 4.0x1.7 adapter but still had to shave some plastic off of them to fit in the G series external port.

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

That’s pretty much my setup exactly. A cheap plastic ammo box with a solar charger and a 12v battery stepped down to 6v with a regulator I bought on Amazon. I just took all my cameras down and they had been running 3 months with this setup.

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

I started with J Series Long Range IR with the Cuddeback solar panels but still couldn't get 6 weeks out of a set of batteries. I still have 2 G series and they are superior cameras in my opinion. They run on D cells and can use the Cuddeback battery booster. I'm over 3 months on the internal D...

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

What are you using for battery boosters? I'm using 12v 7 amp hour batteries with a 6 volt regulator with my G series and get about 3 months.

    Cuddeback G Series

Does anyone know the video resolution and if it records with sound or not?

    Cuddeback Ambush IR

Can it be hooked to a Cuddeback external battery pack?

Another way is to remove the circuit board from the HME solar boxes, they already have a 12v battery in them and do some wiring. In the picture the black wires are from the solar panel. The + wire goes through a diode (this is to keep the battery from draining through the solar panel at night)...

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

You can modify the HME chargers if you can solder by pulling out the 12v 3 prong regulator from the circuit board and soldering in a new 9v. Or make your own. All you need is a Plano Ammo box, a small 12v battery, 9v regulators, a plug and solar panels. The plug is a 4.0x1.7mm. I couldn't find...

    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

I have 4 Cuddelink J series and 1 G series as well as the Home unit. Battery life with alkaline was pretty bad. I was only getting a little over a month. When the solar panels came out I bought 3 of them for the J series, nothing available yet for the G. One camera went dead in 17 days, the next...
