    Cuddeback CuddeLink Cameras

I just ordered 2 sets of 4 Cuddelink IR cams off ebay for 569.99 per 4 and free shipping. Getting tired of checking cams on the farm. This way with the home cam in my back yard it will be simple to check the pictures daily. Will advise how it works out.

    Opinions on clover planting

I plant clover by frost seeding in last winter. I don't have to put up with hogs but any larger seed laying on top of the ground is eat almost 100% by large flocks of turkeys. One year I sowed 1 ac with 90 lbs of WI oats right before a heavy rain forecast so I didn't drag it in. We got no rain...

Adding Bulk & Combining Small Seed in a Hand Crank Spreader

I just adjust the hand or electric spreader opening on the small size and seed the plot 2 times. Works for me just fine.

    No luck with oats

I only plant 1 ac of WI oats each year and the deer hit it hard all winter. Then the deer hit it hard with spring green up. WI oats has wintered over 5 out of 5 years and always greens up come spring here in SW Ohio.

    Starting from Scratch.

Looks like you have a great start. I wish you well with your health problem. Did you get soil test before starting? All those pine droppings maybe a problem.

    flip dirt for clover ?

I would turn it to. Throw and grow doesn't work on my farm. 30-40 turkeys in a flock moves in and eats all the seeds. The turkeys doesn't seem to hurt the radish-turnip too bad but oats they ate every seed in 1 ac in the amount of 100 lbs.

    Imox vs Clethodim for clover?

That's exactly what I got on thistles. Just a slight burn back. I sprayed a 2nd spray of Imox 30 days later and will wait for the outcome. Not seeing much results after 21 days and only a yellowing of leaves. What do I spray with next to kill thistles? Waisted $150 on Imox and fertilizer...

    Roller crimping

Interesting concept. I've watched couple of Dr. Woods shows on crimping then planting. I don't have a planter. Was thinking of hand spreading a turnip-radish mix in my standing mature oats in early September then taking my cultipacker and smashing the standing oats down. You think this will...

    timing the rut

As I see it what is correct thinking for your area maybe partly incorrect in another area. Does are not robots that start the rut with a throw of a switch.

    Bush hogging

I bush hogged my clover plots today. But it's only 18-24" high. Did kick up a fawn on the property line fence. That's 3 fawns I've seen in different areas in last 6 days.

    Imox vs Clethodim for clover?

I sprayed Imox today on my clover plots for a first time use. But it has rained the last 7 days that delayed my spraying and the weeds may have gotten too big for a decent kill. I'll wait 7 days and mow and look at a 2nd spraying of Imox. Thoughts on a followup spraying to kill thistles?

    Honeysuckle

Never hear of it being called Jap Bush Honeysuckle before but that's what it is here. It grows in deep woods here with no problems. It seems after couple hard frost all the leaves drop and only bear limbs. Up until the leaves dropping the deer browse on it rather heavy. Some of the older bushes...

    Honeysuckle

Japanese. Historians say it was brought here in the 1800's as yard decorations. I sure wish it was left back in the old country. http://www.oipc.info/uploads/5/8/6/5/58652481/9fact_sheetjaphoneysuckleasianbittersweet2.pdf

    Honeysuckle

Honeysuckle is a plague from hell. Here is SW Ohio it is so thick you can't walk through it. It grows on every square foot of my farm that isn't in cattle pasture. Today I trimmed the honeysuckle back from 400 ft of my high tension electric fence on my cattle summer pasture. It was a solid wall...
