I have a friend over on the MO deer board that sent me these pics of some chestnuts he's growing in his greenhouse and asked me for some help. Unfortunately I've never seen this problem in the years I've grown them. Any ideas on what is causing his issue?

I've done exactly that with Stark trees for years and have never lost a single tree. Baby them in pots through the summer and plant mid-November.
I have right at a hundred fruit trees of various varieties and the vast majority were from Stark's end of season sales that were pot grown all summer.
That was absolutely awesome! I never thought about it before but it makes perfect sense and was very well explained. Now I KNOW why I'm such a fan of TSI in combination with prescribed fire!

No doubt Texas produces some huge bucks but I would argue that EVERY state has folks that do not enter their record book bucks.

I have a few 4th leaf cherries that will be producing for the 1st time this year.
There are not a lot of cherries for the number of blooms that were on the trees so I suspect the birds/squirrels will be the benefactors this year.
7.5" inches Sat/Sun here at the house and another inch or two predicted for Wednesday.
Some areas of the state got 13+ inches so we were lucky.
