Chistensen Arms Long Range Mesa break in and testing

Very nice gun!!! I'm waiting on a Mesa in 6.5 Creedmoor... should be here any day now. The local gun shop where I ordered it texted me last week that it came in. I was excited that it came in earlier than what was told to them. When we opened up the box I immediately saw the heavier contour...

    Easton Hunting Arrows

I shoot FMJ out of my main hunting bow and Axis out of my backup bow. Tough arrows and the small diameter contributes to great penetration. You can't go wrong with either. I wanted to get ACC's but couldn't find them locally and some are even discontinued.

    Laundry detergent

If you don't use the unscented detergent with the big buck picture on the label, you won't kill anything... I'm joking

    jawbone age

Hardly any tooth-wear. Not that the teeth lie on this one, but as pinetag said a lot has to do with diet. What state did you kill deer in?

    ladder stand

I got a couple of Field and Stream Outpost 17's from Dick's. These are very roomy, have a huge platform, comfortable, and heavy duty. They come with a foldable footrest and a shooting rail. I added 5ft extensions to each one. They go on sale quite often.

    Is this a brassica?

The first pic is horsenettle. It's a weed. The 2nd pic looks like brassica, those shouldn't have thorns.

When does the rut start in your area?

The peak is usually late January and goes in to February. I shot a buck this year on Feb 14. He was one of three bucks chasing a doe. I agree the rut here varies so much. In some cases only a few miles makes a huge difference.

When does the rut start in your area?

Where I hunt in north Florida, I've seen the rut start as early as New Year's. I know that is super late compared to most of y'all, but our season opens in late Oct and ends in late Feb.

    What Broadhead(s) Are You Using?

I've always shot fixed blades and decided to give these a try a couple of seasons ago. I've only shot whitetail with these and have had great results. They really open up deer for me. I haven't had as many pass throughs as fixed blades but the blood trails have been awesome.
