    Odd jobs you've done.

I helped a friend change out one of the antennas and tower lights after his two way radio tower had been struck by lightning back in the 90's. It was a 300' high rohn tower, 200' heavy guage then lightweight the last 100'. That was a bit of a headache since I had to adjust the jib pole 200' up...

    Happy New Year All!

Hope yours doesn't include stormy weather. High winds started my celebration off early today taking out one of my pecan trees. If you have to get out tonight keep a close watch on the cars you meet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

    My new truck!

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=691478 Well, newer. I've been working on this project for longer than I anticipated, but I believe it will be worth the wait. I've got plans to upsize my tractor next year and this should pull it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

    Okie!

I think you've sent your weather over this way! This was looking northwest from my house 45 minutes ago. My wife says the hail was horrible. I hope my new apple grafts made it. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

    Rootstock top experimentation time!

If you'd like to try and get a few free rootstocks be sure and shove the leftover tops when you graft in a place you can keep damp all year. Last year I had no takers on b118, but Chuck and I both had several antonovka takes. He used rooting hormone, I didn't with about the same outcome...

Anna apples in the mid south

I grafted an Anna apple a few years back and I'm starting to question it as a variety here. Last year, with the warm weather, it was in full bloom in late February so of course a freeze got those along with all my pears too. This year the pears are just swelling slightly and Anna looks like...

    2018 scion exchange!

There is nothing like Richard Fayhey's apple scion list to help get me ready for grafting season! Hope you all find what you're after this year and are blessed with amazing growth! Post your wants here and see what turns up. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

    It's hot!

We've had heat warning the past week. I was off today and needed to water so I did it anyway, just about got to hot. I drank lots of water, but my calf cramped up horribly when I got in. I hit the pool as quick as I could when I got in! The beagle pool. Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk

    Tull apple quest

When I started my orchard I had envisioned a few trees, probably end of the year sales I could pick up cheap. Then I began to read about all the apples we had that originated in my home state so I thought if I'm feeding deer and myself, they may as well be Arkansas varieties along with any...

    Dwarf Chinkapin oak?

Found this tree west of little rock today. It's about 12' tall and had a lot of acorns under it. Sent from my SM-S975L using Tapatalk

    Small game

I was supposed to spend the last 2 days on the deer stand, but work had other plans. I needed to get the girls out for some work so here we are. No gun today just listening to the chase. Sent from my SM-S975L using Tapatalk

    Obscure apple varieties

Very early I know, but I've been searching for an old apple named collins red/ red champion/coss' champion. My original wildlife orchard was going to be just a few trees, but now it's around 50 I think. I wanted to add all the old Arkansas apples I could and while collins is supposed to be...

    I graft my trees but,

I don't mind picking up a few on sale. If I'd gave it a few more weeks I probably could have got them at more than 50 percent off, but they only had a few liberty and golden delicious left.

    Rooting mulberry cuttings

Has anyone tried this and if so how was your success rate? I'd really like to add some Illinois everbearing and Pakistan mulberry trees and can get cuttings of both online pretty reasonable.
