If you'd like to try and get a few free rootstocks be sure and shove the leftover tops when you graft in a place you can keep damp all year. Last year I had no takers on b118, but Chuck and I both had several antonovka takes. He used rooting hormone, I didn't with about the same outcome...

I don't mind picking up a few on sale. If I'd gave it a few more weeks I probably could have got them at more than 50 percent off, but they only had a few liberty and golden delicious left.

Has anyone tried this and if so how was your success rate? I'd really like to add some Illinois everbearing and Pakistan mulberry trees and can get cuttings of both online pretty reasonable.
