Worst day of my life, I had to put my Lab down

Only time helps. I lost my 2 Jack Russells about 2.5yrs ago(both within a couple of months). They were 17yo and quite honestly I probably waited too long on my second one. They were AWESOME dogs and I have many, many memories of them both. It took over a year before I could bring myself to get...

    Throw N Mow thread...

Well, no rain yet. The weather is cooling off some, but the rain has evaded so far. Still hopeful though.

    Throw N Mow thread...

Trying my first T&M plot this year. I thought when I sprayed, that the vegetation was really thick, but after spraying, waiting 2 weeks, and spreading/mowing, I definitely have some spots that don't have enough thatch. Hopefully driving over the plot with the tractor packed a lot of the seed...

    My new bow

Nice! Looks like it will kill a deer. What poundage? Is it smooth drawing like a recurve?

    Pretty Bobcat

Neat critters. I have seen very few in my life but ironically my closest hunting pals have seen quite a few over the years. They seem to avoid me. I will shoot every coyote I can get a shot at, but just can't bring myself to shoot a bobcat on the rare occasion that I might see one.

    Passions beyond Deer & Family?

Used to teach Taekwondo and kickboxing in my younger days, recently trained Brazilian jiujitsu for a couple of years(off and on) and golf was once a twice a week passion. Spend most of my time now watching my two girls play volleyball and basketball. I have recently got back in to golf a little...

    Let's see your rig

I liked it with the Hoyt limbs, but when I replaced them with the Tradtech BlackMax limbs from Lancaster, it really improved the rig. It was a little short at 60" for my 30" draw and bumping up to the medium limbs(62" bow) made it much smoother drawing. It is easy to convert any ILF limb to fit...

    Let's see your rig

ALWoodsman, how would you classify that bow? Not really a recurve or longbow is it? Hybrid? Very cool lines to the bow. How does it shoot?

Gonna be at the Lake this weekend, may have to see if I can see it in person. Really cool.

    Let's see your rig

love the Widow TC. I had a PSA Greybark that I loved. Went through a really bad shooting funk a few years back and ended up selling it. DUMB! I think I will get another eventually. Also like the Defiant, Bowhunter. My Maxxis is my first Hoyt compound. Got it during the aforementioned shooting...

Under Armour drops sponsorship for LEGAL hunting!

Ponder this. How often do we(hunters) complain that hunting shows these days are little more than 30 minute infomercials for sponsor products? We tire of all the end zone dances, and trademark celebrations("smoked him", "BBD", etc) and the pushing of, heaven forbid, "BOB" seeds. We encourage...

    Let's see your rig

Time for a little bow porn. :D I'll start it off with mine. Hoyt Dorado w/ TradTech limbs 45#@30" - shooting GoldTip Trads tipped with some STOS 200gr heads(or 150gr Stingers). I'll try to get a pic of my compound up later.

    Wood Arrows!

I have the same feather chopper as above. Works great. Pretty good at cutting your finger as well. Don't ask me how I know. :)

What I don't like about ground blinds

Man! I've seen some nice ground blinds, but never one with it's own bathroom!

Under Armour drops sponsorship for LEGAL hunting!

Good points. You also have to remember, everyone has their own line in the sand. This guy crossed UA's line. You can be pro-hunting and still not like or support glory hounds posting videos celebrating killing something. I love to hunt and watch good hunting videos, but common sense should have...

    Wood Arrows!

Looks good. Wild turkey feathers really give it a classic look. They don't show up well at all in flight though. When I use them, I always have bright nocks and hen feathers.
