I'm going to forgive you for playing golf just this one time, but please hide it from me in the future.....;)

Just Kidding....have a good time my friend....

41* with a feels like of 37* to start off the morning. Plenty chilly for this Florida Boy.

Got to camp to late to do any checking of the cameras, so just picked one. Dang Fall Back hour sucks. Much rather have it in the evening than morning this time of year.

So far no deer but the squirrels and birds are enjoying a Corn Meal for breakfast.

Plan to sit until 10:00 or so then get down and pull the cards.

Chilly!!.

In the battle wagon tonight. Wind is 10-15 mph and it’s in the mid 40,s here with a light rain. I figured staying low would be my best chance at deer. Saw and eventually bumped a doe and fawn on the way in bedded out of the wind.

Ok..... flag has to go! Wing is gusting at 20+ and the flag is shaking the piss out of the blind! My other flags has flexible poles .... this is on a 2x4 .... too ridged!

You still have that flag up and trying to kill something other than a young deer? I would definitely take it down because those passer through bucks may not be as in awe of it as the youngsters...

I am not live from the stand but I have a little story. I have been hanging out with a guy who does heavy equipment work for a living and using his dozer while he is running either his trackhoe or backhoe. A couple days ago we got to the worksite about noon because we were waiting on the gas company to run a pressure check on a line before it could be covered. He told me he saw 4 different bucks chasing does that morning in different areas while he was running errands. I have not seen a chase this year yet and I have hunted a lot. The next day I drove all around looking for all of this action doing a lot of backroad driving. I never so much as saw a single deer in 3 hours.

I had to make a trip to town earlier for groceries so I drove backroads again and never saw a thing. I got home and decided to just make a quick walk across the road to our hunting area and check the cameras one last time before I take my grandson Eli out on Saturday. I was walking an old logging road headed to our south plot when all of a sudden a very nice 9 point buck jumped up about 15 yards away. I had left my phone home And I remembered as I was reaching for it. The buck stood there about 30 seconds in easy bow range and then put his nose to the ground and made about a 30 yard circle completely around me and he even crossed the road I was on twice while I stood there. He looked to be 3.5 years old and if he shows up Saturday I will have my grandson take the shot. There is obviously a hot doe somewhere around there that is probably locked down with another buck. It was neat to be on the ground with this deer today and looking forward to some stand time with my little buddy...

Back at it again with my baby girl. Sitting in her older brother's food plot. She has the bug. I had to drag Collin out to hunt. Emma already has her homework done before she even gets in the car so we can go straight to the woods. She's definitely my daughter. Low 70's, wind blowing 5-7mph from the south. Expecting rain showers after tonight through Saturday. We're having a tough time getting on deer. Little Miss has trouble staying quiet and have been educating them. We could go and get further away but I want her first shot to be manageable (50-70 yards). I know I'm asking a lot. 50-70 yard shot, all on film, BEFORE it gets too dark. Wish us luck

Great afternoon sit. Baby girl was able to get a shot at a big doe. No sign at the shot sight and no blood for the for the first 30 yards. Backed out and reviewed the footage. Looked like a good shot. Ate dinner then loaded the dogs up. 200 yards in and the dogs weren't really hitting on much. But I kept following them. They finally stopped and started licking some leaves "we have blood". Went another 100 yards to find her still kicking and very much alive. Didn't know my male was a catch dog. He put her down when she tried to run. Another shot finished her off. Can't say how proud I am of her. I'll stand by my statement again. As long as I'm in the stand with my wife and kids I'll never have to hunt again!!!

Ha, Ha, 41 is cold?

I sat the funnel stand for a couple hours this morning, the one where I've been getting the best buck pics....but no activity. The forecast for a slight chance of a light rain shower appears to be amiss. The radar is indicating we'll get more significant rain over the next couple of hours so I have shifted to the pop up blind to stay dry.
