Okie - Another here with no cell service once I leave the cabin to head to the stand. And when I do have cell service at the cabin, it is sketchy at best and not enough juice to post a pic while at the farm. It's like one bar from time to time and it comes and goes. I can't even text from the stand. I do enjoy following along though but it's just not the same if not doing it while sitting in the stand.
And, I don't post as much as I once did. We're hunting for sure. I took a nice 8 this past Saturday morning then watched multiple bucks chasing does in our lower lower plot Saturday afternoon. Sunday afternoon, Brooks arrowed the oldest buck he's ever killed but not on the Triple C. I purchased a tract of land in the adjoining county where we're soon to break ground on our final home that's located a mile from Brooks and a mile from our daughter's home. Brooks killed the buck on the new property.
The "Live from the Tree" section seems more fitting to post while sitting in the tree - not a day or 2 after returning back home.
I'm busier than ever with work and travel. I continue to go the farm most weekends and continue to make improvements to our grounds. Food plots are doing great, plenty of deer using our place, but very tough to get bucks beyond 3.5 yrs old. In fact, almost impossible with a 3 month long firearms season here in GA. We're chasing a couple of nice ones on the Triple C and on the new tract.
And like dogghr, I mostly watch em these days. Buck I killed Saturday is only my 2nd buck since 2011. 90% of the time, I hunt with a recurve bow. Thus the reason I do a whole lot of watching and very little killing. For some odd reason, Saturday morning I decided to sit in the Redneck with rifle in hand, overlooking our largest food plot. Watched deer feed for about an hour prior to the 8 walking out of the pines into the plot and it was all over in probably 5 seconds. Back to stick and string now.
Sorry for the rambling, but just wanted you to know that I still log in most days and catch up. Hopefully, I'll post more in the future. And when I retire, I'll switch from AT&T to Verizon. Verizon has service pretty much anywhere on the farm. AT&T sux. Then I'll be joining you guys in posting from the stand!
