2019 Live from the Stand

Good luck to everyone this season. I always enjoy following along on this thread but i've still got 1 & 1/2 months before I'll be able to contribute.

Hard for me to fathom hunting in August, but I sweat like logging mule. Be the last Saturday in September for me to bowhunt, but I might aggravate some swine before theno_O

Looks like it will be next week before I go. Have some great bucks on cam. Especially for the low country.

Going to take my crossbow for a walk this Saturday, 8/17, buck only. Midday sit from 10am to 2pm...that's our typical buck pattern for early velvet bucks. First time doing an August sit but gotta give it a shot.
 
Good luck all! Wrapping things up here in Hawaii, might go one more time in October. Not sure if I'll make it to NC this fall or not, will have to live vicariously through this thread!

Best of luck to all you SC guys getting it done in August! In my younger years, nothing kept me from opening day. Not so much these days. Our season opener is 2nd Saturday of September. Doubt I grace a stand until late September or early October.
 
I normally don't hunt this early but it was my wife and I anniversary and our parents had the kids. She suggested we go up to the cabin and hunt. Didn't see any deer but we had a flock of turkeys come through.

I’m watching 8 does/fawns as we speak. I’m sitting over my decimated soybeans, but it appears that one of the sawtooths on the edge of the field is already dropping acorns. Seems early even for us.

I’m an hour north of you on vacation and I didn’t even golf today thanks to the heat. Not sure how you do it without ac in the stand. Good luck. Call if you need help dragging that buck out.

If you ever feel like driving down to Charleston, I’ll give you a tour of the farm.

The heat wasn’t even bad yesterday, wimp. It was a breezy 81 - good thing you weren’t here last week when the heat index was 114!

Easy Cutman. He’s an old guy and an has a hair trigger. Rumor has it he has Hatfield blood coursing thru his veins. I’m still trying to picture him on his Hawg with fake tattoos n long gray wig. Bout decided his bark is worse than his bite. ‍♂️

Maybe at 5 am. It was hot as hell here with the humidity. I don’t have any hair to protect my dome. I did think of you today as my wife drug me out on a old plantation history tour in the swamps. Actually really enjoyed it, the guy was good and I saw a lot of different trees especially liking the long leaf pine and its love for fire. I did see a fox and some deer but dang just couldn’t imagine hunting in this. I did shoot a buck after 2 all day sits in 20 below zero temps one year so I guess depends on what one likes. I just always felt you could put more clothes on but according to the arresting office, am only allowed to take a certain number off!!!
I may take you up on that tour one day when it is not hunting season. Bet your place is beautiful from what i’ve seen you show. Thanks

And Triple, I would never get one of those fake tattoos, scrubbing those off would hurt!
 
First nice buck sighting of the year for me. 8 pointer with good mass and width but short G3s. Looks like he has rubbed his velvet off in the last couple of days. Not a shooter but sped up my heart!
