Merit Seed

Anybody with experience with Merit Seed. One of my Amish neighbors is selling it and his prices are pretty good. I usually steer away from "mixes" because of the price, but these seem to be in line. Just wonder if anybody has some experience, germanation and etc.

If it's a certified seed, it should be labeled accordingly and the germination rate indicated, and when it was tested. I'd make friends with that neighbor, since he may be able to hook you up with some leftover seed, that they can't sell (for whatever reason) and will be perfectly fine for food plotting ...... at a discount.

The only real negative is if they have a mix of big seeds and small seeds in the bag. Big seeds should be planted deeper than something like clover.

I've never used them but they have a good reputation. I like their DeerMax and UltraMax mixes, maybe I'll try UltraMax sometime.
