Some of those New York apples are getting to be good sized now but still very green. I noticed at least 5 on one tree yesterday. Hope they hold on until the end of season.

Steve, some that are green likely come from one of trees whose apples mature green and do not turn red. The mature green apples from where the green cuttings came from is a highly preferred apple by the deer. Here the apples from the "green" tree are slightly larger than marble size so far.

My favorite is the Eversprout. The head screws on to the pole rather than clamping to the pole like some other designs. They are expensive but worth the extra cost over the long run in my opinion. If you have a clamp to loosen and the head comes loose from the pole and hangs 20 feet up in a tree, you will regret not getting one. https://eversprout.com/product-category/fruit-pickers/
PS: The one shown above in not an Eversprout. I use this one on a short pole for short trees. But I do have an eversprout on a long pole for the high work.

The grandpups climbing the tree and shaking the limbs, much easier. Ok may be the old man climbs up there with them sometimes.
