Internet Issue

Interestingly enough, I clicked this thread after loading the forum in the app on the iPhone and got this.

The only thing I've noticed in the last week or so is that nobody is posting, but I've not had any issues except having to shrink pics down more than usual in order to load them.

Not to keep beating a dead horse but also want to make sure the people working on this issue are aware it’s still occurring for some of us. Had intermittent problems yesterday getting on and just had it happen 5 more times a short time ago. Very strange.

I know it definitely affects my ability to post since I do most of it from my phone. My iPad is fine but my phone is a no go 99% of the time.

I think it's cleared up for me, but for a couple of weeks it pretty much kept me off the site.

The problem with this issue is that nothing shows up on the server side. No errors, no faults, nothin. Diagnostics have been no help. Furthermore, not everyone is affected. It’s just as frustrating for us as it is for y’all because we can’t replicate it.

Please know that we have not forgotten about this. We just don’t know how to fix it...yet.

There are 2 DNS entries for the forum. The ip addresses they are mapped to are 159.203.156.48 and 162.243.161.9 The 159.203.156.48 is not mapped right, so fails if your browser tries to access that way. The mappings need to be fixed.

Get rid of that bad a record and it should be fixed...unless there are redundant servers at different IPs?
This was amazing troubleshooting and I truly appreciate the help! This is exactly what the problem was.

I have it setup so that new instances are automatically built when load gets high. What looks like happened was a few weeks ago a new server was brought on during a period of high volume and when everything went back to normal, the "temporary and automatically created" server was automatically brought back offline but the associated DNS record was not destroyed. I manually killed it this morning.

Let me know how it looks!!

Thank you!!!

Also one other "highlight" -- we will be upgrading the board to new software soon. This will bring a TON of new features your way. Understanding that a ton of new stuff at once isn't always optimal, I do apologize in advance. I think that over time everyone will love the new layout.

Looks good so far. I get the DNS / ip address / site mapping issue. But now I'm wondering into unfamiliar territory. Could this affect embedded links? This is small potatoes and probably just a broken link, but when I click on the logo in the upper right corner I get a page not found error. I guess I should clear my cache, too?

And would a Google search provide a path to the errant ip address?

The A record is pointing to the wrong ip address now. It's pointing to 159.203.156.48 instead of 162.243.161.9
