How does switch do in sandy soil?

Helping a buddy with some of his access issues on his property and Switchgrass would be the ticket for his situation if it will grow good.
I am use to planting on old farm ground with better soils. So I hate to recommend it based on my results.
His soil is pretty sandy, but has enough "dirt" to it he has been able to grow decent plots considering.
Anyone have experience planting switch grass on lighter soils they can share their results?
Thanks in advance

It grows great, find out what type is recommended for your area.I use blackwell and kanlow.Mine averages 4-6ft.I get faster growth by frost seeding
