Want to know when freeze/frost late spring is??? Just look for your apples to bloom. Guarantee freeze. We had snow flurries and freeze advisory for 2 nights. Planted 4 more apples in the wind rain snow and cold today anyways jst so I’ll have more predictors. My Red delicious is in full bloom but luckily my favorite the yellow delicious just starting. Here is o e of my 3 yo full bloom. Last freeze here typically mid May.

I thought you were full of hot air...;) Just kidding...I hope you have a good apple crop. We have fruit set here and I'm praying...

I was actually cussing you today, really just envious, as I dug 7 holes for 4 trees hitting rock a foot deep on 3 bad digs. Was dreaming of your 24 feet of soil !!!

My sure fire method is when I’m really busy and I have to get the ground prepped/seeded within in a narrow window, I schedule time off....so we can then we get So much rain it’s impossible to work the ground.

It's pears for me. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get a pear crop due to early blooming/late freezes. My crabs and apples seem to have the timing pretty good.

My pears seem to be immune to freezes. Mine have been producing for almost 10 years now and it seems that in most years, we have a freeze during bloom...sometimes in the mid to low 20s, and my pear trees still produce a crop so heavy that it damages the trees. It happened again last year...hard freeze during bloom, then so much fruit that it breaks branches. Last year was one of the worst years...tons of branch breakage from the weight of pears.

That's reassuring! Thanks. My pears are young so that is probably why I'm not getting production but it has been worrisome that 5h3y always freeze.
