Pennington Deer Greens

Well, I followed all your advice. I got oats disced in yesterday. How long does it take for them to usually germinate?

Seven to ten days. Maybe as long as long as 14 days. Depends on moisture and soil temperature, but probably not an issue right now.
Both plots were small. One had almost as much rock as soil and the other had dormant weeds. I disced each pretty heavy, broadcasted seed, lime and fertilizer and used a drag harrow behind my 4 wheeler. Hopefully I get some growth to disc in for summer annuals in mid May

Just giving you an update creek. These were taken today and both oats and clover are germinating.

2 week update. Still no oat germination. Both Saturdays I’ve been at the farm turkeys were in the plot. I am sure I got a fair amount of seed covered but looks like the turkeys are scratching hard to get what they can.
