Persimmon Scions

Is anyone going to have abut 6 or 8 late dropping American Persimmon scions this year? I don't have anything this year to trade, but I sure could use a few.

I would like some late October or early November ripening persimmon scions also. I don't have any persimmon scions for trade but I have various apple and pear trees for scion exchange.

I may have some that fit this too just depends on how late. Hillfarm what apples and pears you have?

How late?
I'd love to get some dropping into mid November. I have two native females that drop in mid October and would like to spread the season out a little. I just found two really nice males in an area I'd like to graft onto.

I know of where one used to be in one of our county parks that would have fruit still hanging in January. I'll get one of our staff people to go see if it's still there. I know they did some work in that part of the park a few years ago so they may have cut it.

I can get scion wood from these trees this year:
Apples-
Unknown seedling tree my Grandfather planted. A tart fist sized apple with a red blush over green when ripe, early summer, July. Shows little sign of scab, CAR or other diseases.
Honeycrisp
RJ Gold
Antonovka
Enterprise
Liberty
Esopus Spitzenberg
Jonafree
Haur Pippin
Karmine de Sonnaville
Belle de Boskoop
King of Tompkins County
Hanner's Best
Goldrush
Grimes Golden
Crabs-
Morse Giant Red
Morse Bunches & Bunches Red & Yellow
Whitney
Dolgo
Kerr
Pears-
Keiffer
Comice
Wild
Copper Creek
I also have about a dozen or so each, of other apple and pear varieties, that are just whips, with no wood to trade, until the future.

I grow Deer Magnet, Early Golden, Evelyn, John Rick, Munich, Prok,Valeen Beauty, Fuyu, Giant Fuyu, Hachiya, and Tamopan. I also have some varieties that I have selected from local stock. One is early and has finished dropping by gun season, October 11. One drops during early gun season and seems to be a little more attractive to deer, hogs and coyotes than other trees close by.. One holds fruit well into December. I can take a look at what I may have available in the am. I know that Fuyu in the orchard already has green buds. I have another tree at a lower elevation that may have some dormant wood. I'm looking for Yates, Kasandra, Rosseyanka, Nikita's Gift, and Szukis. I don't mind sending some out to someone that does not have anything to trade. I also grow 23-24 varieties of pears and 45 varieties of apples. If anyone wants to swap some scion wood next February or March, just let me know.

I didn’t do much scion collection this year so I have nothing to trade, but I’ll gladly take any persimmon varieties you are willing to share. I need some grafting scions this season. I have plenty of varieties of pears and apples on my farm I can share in the future.

I just got back from checking my trees. I have some wood that is still dormant. I need you to let me know how many scions you will need. I will cut them about 8". I will also need your mailing info.

I dropped off twelve varieties at the Post Office just now. I'll send you descriptions as soon as I figure out how to send you an email.

I received the scions yesterday. Thank you so much for sharing! If you'll PM me your info, I'll gladly send Paypal or a check to cover expenses. Do you have any descriptions on the varieties other than what was included?

Just bringing this thread back up. Several members over the past couple years have been very kind in sharing their scions with me for my big persimmon orchard. I’m always looking to add more variety, so if anyone has persimmon scions to share, please reach out!

That’s amazing - “my” persimmons (SW Mississippi) are done and gone by end of October!
