OFFICIAL 2018 Nut/Seed Exchange Thread

I know the guy you’re talking about. How long ago was it when you picked up your trees? I sent him an email two days ago and yesterday he responded and told me he was sold out of everything. I then asked what varieties he grew so maybe I could get some nuts from somewhere else and he wouldn’t even tell me that.

I just picked up this week. He's got lots of 4-6' seedlings left but sold out of chestnuts. I was able to walk around and pick my trees, he had tons. Just has them sitting outside under a couple oak trees. He couldn't tell me the variety either. Which is strange because he advertises that he has tried many varities and that this is the best for Oklahoma. He just doesn't know what it is lol.

There are two or three videos I found on Youtube and he goes on and on about how many different Chinese varieties that’s he’s tried and at one point went to China to do research but in all his talking he never names and specific varieties. Either he really doesn’t know or most likely he feels like he’s done all the research and doesn’t want to tell. I respect that. I don’t necessarily want to give away all my secrets either.

My Bur Oak just now dropped most of its acorns due to high winds. It would have probably held on for another couple of weeks if it had not been for the wind. PM me if you would like some. We can work out a trade or some form of payment.

I’d be interested in Chinese Chestnut, Allegheny Chinkapin and any hybrid oaks.

Picked up some more bur oak today. These are from a tree that has yet to drop. I had to thrash it to get them to turn loose. This tree has the same leaf pattern as the others but the cap comes way down on the acorn.

Nothing but I can pay. Sold my farm so I'm just trying to add a couple of chestnut trees to the house 15 acres.

PM me your address and I’ll get some out to you. These were purchased from Chestnut Hill of Pike County. They are some of the smaller size but as long as they grow I don’t care what the nut size is. lol

I am looking for some sawtooth acorns, but I am in zone 5 so I am looking for something grown closer to my zone. I would have some red oak acorns to offer or I would be willing to pay.
