Yep lakngulf. Got a good rain the day after planting, then again a week later, and again a week after that. Perfect conditions for a good T&M plot.
Drycreek, we have hogs also. Not a lot, but enough to hurt if they hit a plot. I suspect a good layer of thatch over the seed works about as well as burying the seed. Hogs haven't been a problem If the timing is right and it rains soon after planting to get the seed going. However, I have thought about getting a cheap transistor radio to put in the middle of the plot in a covered plastic bucket right after planting. Set it to a 24-hour talk radio station at a fairly low volume to preserve battery life and leave it there. I saw one on Amazon for about $20. One guy in the Q&A section said he leaves it on for his cats twenty four hours a day. He claims the batteries last five or six days like that.

Looks great! My T&M this year suffered.. didn’t get to spray & think my ph was too low for the wheat to germinate good. Going to overseed with WR to hopefully salvage it & get some spring weed control.

I'm sure if you put a couple of motion sensor halloween props like Frankenstein or a ghost that they would probably leave it alone for a while. Come to think of it that might be good to put in your buddys ground blind for opening morning.

I left a sweaty T shirt in mine one night and that kept them out, but thanks for the suggestions that I hadn't thought about. I might have to try that come spring.
Oh, and my buddy would unload a full mag of 9mms inside my stand. It would be airconditioned for sure !

That sounds like a good one Cap'n. I think I'll hit the post-Halloween sales at Walmart and Home Depot and pick up whatever looks right and try them with planted beans in the spring.
