OFFICIAL 2018 Nut/Seed Exchange Thread

I should have Allegheny Chinquapin in a few weeks, provided I can beat the critters to them.

I’d also be interested in a few! Like I’ve said before have some chestnut oaks, white oaks, pin oaks and some black oaks.

I did get some Concordia oak acorns collected if anyone wants a few.

Hi,letemgrow, I would love to have a few Concordia acorns. Working on sending a pm

Picked off the tree. They were just starting to turn on some acorns. Had to pick them then as they are 2.5 hours from my house.

Mine have completely turned brown and the caps have started turning with just a little green left in them but they are still hanging on tight to the tree so I was hesitant to pick them. I’d prefer to pick them as soon as possible to avoid the chance of them being found by birds or squirrels.

I would like some ACCF based American chestnut seed if anyone can spare some ...I'm old but before I'm gone I would like to see on our family farm American Chestnuts ...I only mention ACCF seed stock as I am reading it is exhibiting "some" blight resistance and I figure as old as I am I better get it right the first time!
Thanks
Bear

Some of my earlier dropping Dunstans have started opening up the last few days. So far the deernand squirrels are keeping up with everything that has hit the ground. Big nuts this year. If anybody wants any let me know. I have had near perfect success with direct seeding these.

@mattpatt I just picked up some rootmaker grown Chestnut trees this morning in Chandler, OK. Guy is advertising on FB marketplace and has his own nursery called "An Oklahoma Chestnut." Might be worth your while.

I know the guy you’re talking about. How long ago was it when you picked up your trees? I sent him an email two days ago and yesterday he responded and told me he was sold out of everything. I then asked what varieties he grew so maybe I could get some nuts from somewhere else and he wouldn’t even tell me that.
