Baker, can you tell me about your greenhouse. We're looking at putting in a similar one, as my wife wants one that is as pretty as it is functional....guess no hoop houses for me. I'd like to know what company you used, what if anything you'd do differently, how automated temp control is/or is not and if you don't mind sharing what kind of hit to the wallet yours caused. Those pretty ones don't come cheap!

We used Arcadia glass houses out of Ohio and have been very happy with it . They will send a crew to install which was well worth it. We added fans inside and wish we had included a/c as it gets so hot in the south that its essentially unusable in the summer. I'm picking one up this weekend. Arcadia offer lots of styles and options . We built a custom stone base, used neat Edison style lights inside, built our own work benches etc.I put a stainless steel sink in which hasn't been used much. However I put several faucets which are handy. We used a small grade crushed granite on the floor which adds a nice sparkle. The base price was upper $30K . From there its up to you.

I love those old barns.

Garden is in full production now. Wife is working daily trying to process everything but inputs are exceeding outputs. Class B problem as my buddy says.

here is what today looks like. Tomatoes, peppers, squash, green beans, egg plant, blue berries, cucumbers, carrots, collards, kale, ,,,thats what I can think of.

Thats a good haul. I like the way you trellis the beans. Do I see an ear of corn back there?

I planted watermelon in my back yard this year. I think they went in the ground as seeds at the beginning of May, and a couple of days ago is when the first female flowers appeared. I don’t have very many bees around so I’m hand pollinating.
