Stuff you have found on your property??

Is that Oriental Bittersweet vine? If so, I'd hack and squirt it.

I think it's vine honeysuckle. I will go back and check it when things green up.....it is only in one small spot and obviously the saplings buig away the location.

Growing up on a cattle operation we had a manager who I grew up around as a youth ....in later years he invited me to hunt a place he was renting to run some of his own cattle on ....so I drove out to it to do a pre turkey season scout/learn the property trip ....very secluded area and in the center was a really wooley area ....so i wormed my way in and in the center of the wooly was an old victorian looking house ...very classy in it's day ....but the place was just like the folks were just away to church or something and never came back ...like turn of the last century ago church trip ...everything was still in place ...furniture, clothes, only appliances ...a wood burning cook stove,...fireplace heat ...spinning wheel ....dishes ...back porch still had the cream separator... copper laundry tub...woven egg crates ...a few printed items in the house ...newest date I could find was 1909 ....the smokehouse/tack shed had ham bones with the skin on it like modern day shrink wrap still hanging ...the tack shed was full of harnesses, trees and miles of leather reigns ... plumb spooky ...got to thinking something real bad and real sudden struck this family ...I will be honest ....I decided I had other places to hunt!!!! .....I was going to ask old Pete (our old manager) about the place nextime I saw him ....Pete died of a heart attack 3 months after that ...to this day I still don't know the story of that very strange encounter ...that was 50 years ago ...

There is a well on our property at an old home site, it and a large bunch of Easter flowers is the only clue there was ever a house there. It used to hold water but has since dried up. I found a hammer head in the crotch of a fallen tree near where a friend said he and his dad found a moonshine still in the early 30s. When I was looking at the abstract one evening I found that one of the two 40 acre plots was traded by the federal government to a gentleman for property to build the Wabash Erie canal.

So far I've found three wells, two cellars, remnants of a rock structure/ homestead, lots of daffodils and three locations with stacked rock walls. A few photos.

I love those old home sites. I always search out the old family dump and look for bottles, crocks or other stuff they threw away. I once found a sterling silver bracelet in a farm dump. I took it home and polished it up and it's beautiful. My wife wears it all the time.

I've found nothing as cool as most that have posted on this thread, did find some foundation stones in a big square in the woods and re-purposed some into a fire ring. The foundation had some daffodils next to it too.
Also have a few huge stones marking steps of an old cellar and a big depression where the well was on the old homestead part of farm.

The second cellar I found, has a auto frame for the roof support. Anyone have an idea what the frame is from?

My property includes what was a oil boom patch. But the dumps I found I think were from 30s-50s.And from them we have found a couple things such as a really nice tea pot,my wife thought I was pretty nice bringing it home to her.Other than that I have hauled out 22 5 gallon buckets of broken glass bottles
