Geo in Co

A sad day for Geo in Co. I came home last evening from fighting class about 7;15 pm and me and Hank went out side, I gathered up some firewood and Hank wrestled in the yard with the dog across the green space. At 7:35 we went back in for the evening and Hank fell backwards and proceeded to die in my arms. I pumped his chest a bit and gave him some breaths before realizing that I just lost my best little buddy, probably ever. I slept about an hour last night and the sun rise this morning was a killer for me.

Me and Hank never made it up top of Coyote Hill, I'm thinking that will be our last hike.

George,

I’m terribly sorry to hear the news about Hank. I always loved the pics you posted showing him enjoying the adventure with you. I’m a huge dog person as well so I understand how much of a strong, lasting bond can easily be formed with a great canine companion. So, so sorry for your loss.

Oh man. That’s just awful. My heart sank reading your post. So sorry for your loss.

Thanks for your support guys. Today I managed to run some errands and get some work done but I am pretty much just devastated. I haven't even been able to call any of Hank's friends to tell them what happened. If anyone has a good line on some APBT pups (real ones) let me know, I might not find another Hank but I would like to try.

A very sad day indeed. I'm very sorry George. I always thought "What a great life Hank has roaming the mountains with you". And enjoyed following along and seeing him in your thread.

Thank you Dave. Another profoundly sad morning that little dog held my heart in his paws. I can't imagine what one who loses a human loved one in such a fashion goes through. I had a contingency plan in place, I told Hank's friend and my fellow geriatric Jui- Jitsu buddy if my heart pops before his, come and get Hank. But I didn't have a contingency plan for Hank's heart popping. It makes me kind of want to make a doctor appointment to get checked out myself.

Sorry to hear George. I love dogs and have such a strong bond with my pups that I can just image how big of a loss this is. I'm glad to hear you gave Hank such a great life. Hang in there man.

Man that sucks George, sorry to hear it. That dog was only 4-5 wasn't he? I remember when you got him, but time flies. Think it was just a heart condition? As you know from your Rotts best way to get past it is to get a pup located ASAP. Good luck and hang in there.

George, I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m glad you’re looking at puppies—it will help...in time. Best friends are irreplaceable.

Well what a bummer. Hate that for you. Somehow I miss him as you have always had him in your threads and he seemed to be part of my life too. We do get attached to them.

Dang, George, wasn't expecting that. Hang in there, and by all means go get yourself a physical if something is telling you to!

Geo, I'm just now catching up on your thread and finding out about Hank. My heart is broken to hear this. You two were such a team. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh my, got back last night around 11pm and my e-mail indicated that there were no responses to the thread so I didn't even look. I looked just now to find that all you guys responded, thank you very much for your condolences. Hank was 2 months shy of three years so something definitely went wrong, most likely an aneurism blew and he just bleed out internally. But life goes on and so does the adventure. I found this boy on the net amongst a mega pile of over priced and/or junk animals. No that's not Hank, that's Tank Jr.

I took a little road trip to Eureka California. Our first nature walk was in Redwood/ Humboldt National Park.

Just as Hank was, Tank Jr. is a gem of a puppy. Thanks again guys, I have my hands full right now and I need to go get some more puppy food.

ps he is 8 weeks old and he is a tank.
