2 Otters in one trap!

Excellent, Brushpile. I've heard of others doubling on otter but have never done it myself. To be safe though I'm betting you reset the traps.

Very cool! What now? Sell the pelts?
What a pain it is to sell the otters! Each one requires a tag that is applied by a game warden or the Fish and Forestry Deptartment or some such place, so the fur buyer wouldn't buy them until they get tagged. Then otters are only worth $15 each due to animal activists and people not wanting to offend them, so I'm sending the pelts off to be tanned, after they're tagged of course. Danged Gobberment at every turn!

BTW, Large Coon are $2, not worth the gas to take them to a buyer. Possum pelts stretched and dried at 17 cents.

Yup, I reset in the pond for now, but will reset on the river, which is so low that I can block moving water with a trap, and catch every otter that swims in it.

At least you have a buyer! I have two years worth of coon hides that are going to the ditch next trip up north. I didn't even apply for my conservation area permit this year. We need a cold winter and good economy in Russia and China to eat up the built up inventory in the fur houses. Did you set a slide on the double?

It was a toilet that I blocked off except for the slide I made with my boot. It's a shame what some people have done to the fur market. People don't wear fur because they don't want to offend.
