Hate the cams I own. Looking to buy a few new ones

Just picked up two Browning Dark Ops Elite HD cams. Two different shops told me they have good luck with them and very little complaint feedback which is not so with other models sold. They are small cameras with simple operations. Sorry I can’t give any feedback on anything other than daytime pics right now as they were just put out 2 days ago. 10mp photos

I ordered 4 (2017) Browning Strike Force HD PRO from Trailcampro.
I liked their test results and their 2 year warranty and 90 day return policy, plus the customer reviews were pretty good, too. TCP rated it at 90/100. There aren't many cameras in their tests that rank higher, especially in that price range.
Memory cards and shipping included in their price. $159
Wish I was buying high end Reconix but they're just too expensive. I think this model of Browning will be a decent camera overall.
If I don't like it for any reason, I have 90 days to return it. Not a bad deal IMO.

Good luck with them Tap; All information on them looks very promising. And the return policy of Trailcampro makes it an easy decision. I and likely a lot of others are looking forward to hearing how they perform for you.

Thanks.
I should have them out in the field by the weekend.
I'll keep you guys posted.

I prefer the elite. Camera companies always tout "improvements" to the new year models. Buddy buys about every cam that comes along, as he helps with a TC review website. Says the new Brownings aren't up to snuff with the Elite. I take his word for it, he is who turned me onto the Elite. Plus, the price is great. Last card I pulled out of my elite had 1100 pics, and battery life said 99%. Not sure how that could even be possible.....

I'm not familiar with Elite brand, or are you talking about Browning Elite's. (forgive my ignorance, I don't deal with camera's a lot)

Which model of Browning is not up to snuff? They have several models and some are rated better than others.
And I based my decision not on what the manufacturer touted, I based it on Trailcampro recommendations.

Yes Strike Force Elite. Easiest way to get right model is search for BTC5 HDE on Amazon or somewhere like Midway USA.

I think their black flash cams lag behind their other cams some. I also just bought 2 of "outfitter pro" or something like that at Cabelas on black Friday. I have 2 watching coyote sets on video. They do a descent job, and are black flash, but are down to 85% battery after maybe a dozen videos. Verdict is still out. Some are definitely better than others, but I think any Browning is better than any of some of the brands. BTC5HDE will be hard to beat. It compares to Reconyx in every category except daytime pic quality, in my opinion. And the Browning is plenty good enough. I'm a pic guy, not a video guy, so I can't say how they are in video mode.

I got about 3 months of video out of my batteries, but I was also getting roughly 600 20 second videos every month. I think that I could have made it day time video only and saved battery by keeping the flash off.

I too used to be a die hard moultrie guy, the old cams were great!! Never had any problems with them but about 3-4 years ago they started putting out a very poor product. I have since been on the search for something reliable and at a good price. I currently have out a Bushnell Agressor, I like it but it’s sensitivity is off the chart and I get a lot of shots of nothing at all, A newer Browning I really like it because it’s small but is a little sensitive especially with ligh and shadows, I just put out a Radix, I have not checked any cam pics yet as it has only been out for a few days but it is super small, roughly the dimensions of my iPhone maybe a little wider, it does take a micro SD and only 4 batteries $159 I believe from amazon. I will let you know how the pics come out.

Which Brownings do you have? All Brownings are not created equal. Although I have found no camera equal to the 2016 Browning Strike Force, go to Amazon and search BTC 5HDE. Unfortunately I don't think the 2017's are as good, but there are still '16s on Amazon.

I have the Browning Strike Force HD Pro. I have high hopes for it because I love the size and the very clever adjustment piece on the strap that allows you to angle the camera instead of using a stick behind the camera.

Good luck, I don't have one. A friend has several and says they aren't quite up to the 2016 in the pic quality dept. The 2016s adjust exposure somhow to make better quality pics. I'm sure they are still great, we don't frame these pics anyway.

Hahahahaha very true.

Interpolation is how they make better pictures in trail cams. Almost all trail cam companies do it, some just do it better. This isn't exact, but take your trail cam's MP and divide by 2(ish) and that will tell you how many MP it really has and the rest is interpolated. Most trail cams actually stop at about 8MP. If you look at Buckeye Cams, none of their cameras are over 5MP and have some of the best pic quality in the industry... They are also high in price, higher in features. I stopped by their office while in Ohio this year. Super nice people and some awesome products. Would love to buy one or ten, but you'd have to win the lottery to replace the trail cams I have now.

My work horse cameras are Covert MP8's. I bought a few Covert Viper's this year. The picture quality is great for a little extra money.

I'm familiar with interpolation. The 2016 Browning actually adjusts exposure, and shutter speed.
