thanks buddy. Perfect soil temps and good timely rains played a huge role also. Looks like we are in for a rainy week starting tomorrow.

Had the day off so wenView attachment 6979lt and did a little turkey calling. Never saw or heard a bird. After a few hours of calling with nothing I grabbed the fishing pole and tied on a spinner bait. Ponds are full after the last rain but water very muddy. Caught a few and here is a pic of the best.
More rain (flooding rain) coming tonight. Don't really need it right now but never turn down rain. Soybeans are 2 1/2 weeks old now and doing great. Hopefully the deer will leave them alone right now and let them get a good head start.

Great backup plan on the turkey hunt! Your beans are looking great too.
Chuck sprayed our bean plot with roundup Thursday and drove through water in spots.
With the 6 inches forcast for the weekend there's no telling when we'll get ours planted.

This time of year I never go to the pond without a fishing pole. As soon as the water clears a bit I'll be dragging my fishing tube with me. Nothing like fishing in a tube.
Oh, they will get drowned probably and with the ground already so saturated they may be standing in water for a while.

I grafted a couple trees with your dad's scions on Wednesday. Hopefully they will make it.

Oh yea. They will survive. Two years ago they were under water for a week and I had one of my best soybean crops ever. Received 2 1/2" today.

I will be able to test scion viability after 3 days of submersion. Flooding is worse than it has ever been.
Thanks for grafting Redrock! My ole' man would take great pride in that. Hopefully they will take.

Been fishing out of a tube since I was about 14 or so. Perfect for pond fishing. I'll take a pic next time.
Neighbor just sent me a pic of his rain gauge. We got a total of 3.1" with this last front. Really didn't need it as the ground was already saturated but always thankful for rain. I'll keep you updated with dad's scions.
All ponds are full over this way and folks were out fixing fences and patching roads everywhere this morning...we got right at 6.2" of rain with 3" of it coming in one hour...
