What is your choice of ladder stand for archery? I still use my treewalker but im getting old so it might be time to set up a few ladders..

Sportsmans Guide sold a lounge seat style ladder stand last year. I have 2 and really like them though the seat material is a bit noisy. Plenty tall and extremely comfortablet, as well as affordablet. I don't know if they have them this year.

sawman...For bowhunting, particularly with trad bows, I like the Ol Man Bowlite ladder. Bought 2 for this year and sat in 1 for 1st time this past saturday. Only 15 ft tall and weigh just 45 lbs. No rail to get in the way of drawing trad bow. Nice platform and Ol Man style web seat. Also have numerous other ladder stands. Most comfortable is the Millennium 21 ft with folding sling style seat. But...you better like where you put it cause it takes a lot of motivation to want to move it due to size and weight. Also bought an X-Stand Onyx. It's 17 ft and has a locking jaw system that clamps to the tree prior to climbing and strapping. No worries with stand shifting when climbing to secure ratchet straps. It has the Millennium style seat. Prolly weighs 100 lbs or so. Put it in a place that I don't intend to move it. For mobility and ease of putting up, the Ol Man seems to be just about right for me.

I have over a dozen ladders, most of them the cheap $50 15 footers. Not comfortable especially the small foot platforms. Biggest plus is they are lightweight and easy to put up.

Like Triple C, I just bought two of the X-Stands, the Onyx(17') and the Duke(20'). I like the locking jaw system for safety in putting up. Best price I have found is at Menards.

I got a couple of Field and Stream Outpost 17's from Dick's. These are very roomy, have a huge platform, comfortable, and heavy duty. They come with a foldable footrest and a shooting rail. I added 5ft extensions to each one. They go on sale quite often.

Last year I bought 5 Ameristep 15' 2-man ladders from Walmart. Price was about $90 each if memory serves me right. Nice stands in my opinion. Relatively easy to assemble, plastic washers for all connection points, easy to put up, relatively quiet (for a metal stand), roomy. Have a few others by other manufacturers in the same price range...Ameristep is the best. Only complaint is height...a few locations an extra 3-5 feet would be nice.

We broke the bank and bought a cb lever ladderstand out of North Augusta. Thicker tubing and the chain and lever apparatus make it a must for me. My wife wanted me out of my climber and ponied up some serious bucks for this ladder stand.

We arent stand installing pros but we moved this thing twice already under five minutes both times.

Yellowdog and triple c....those x stands have caught my here of late. Can you elaborate on the lock jaw system...what it does and how it works?

W33...The locking jaw is basically a big set of serrated curved scissors on the back of the stand with steel cables that run thru pre-set slots down to the back of the stand about the 3rd rung up from bottom. You simply open the jaws, place against the tree, pull the cables down and attach to a ratchet strap that is provide and ratchet the jaws until they are solidly locked on the tree. Same system at bottom of stand. Instead of a single stabilizer bar, it has the same jaw system to stabilize the ladder to the tree. Very cool design and very easy to install.

i got a Field and Stream Outpost 17's from Dick's two years ago great stand big big seat very sturdy hardly any movement going up and down

I'll be the third to say the Field and Stream Outpost 17's from Dicks are great. Have three of them. They are light sitting in a recliner.

I'm older to now and use 17' Bad Boy 2 man wrap around stands. I bolt on a molded plastic chair seat as I have a bad lower back problem This way I can do 12 hour sets with little problems. Plus have 1/2 of the seat area for my extra equipment. The ladder has a double row of up beams so there is little bowing in the tall ladder.
I use a block and tackle setup to install and take down stands by myself. Have done 150 lb home made ladder stand by myself using the setup.

I second the BowLite by Ol' Man. Especially if you move stands by yourself or move stands mid season. For a ladder, they are very easy to set by yourself.

Hawk Hunting obviously you must be a Hawk stands hunter. For my clients I run primarily all Hawk ladders and Millennium hang on's. I also have a few Millennium ladders that are very similar to the Hawk stands. The reason Hawk is my favorite big ladder stand to hunt is the weight. One man can set a Hawk with no problems but the Millennium ladders of the same caliber are considerably heavier. I told a buddy the Millenniums are two guy jobs or one of my son who just got done playing college football at the fullback and middle linebacker positions lol
