Drought and Survival

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. We’ve got 8/10’s in the last 2 hours and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down. I sprayed plots yesterday and even put out some brassicas in a few areas that Ill plant cereal grains in a few weeks.
I hope we get some of it at home, I’m south of the state line by about an hour. We are in desperate need

Nope…… I miscounted my days last week, we’re up to 74 days with 1.25” of rain. Looked at the drought map, we’re leaving the extreme realm and venturing into exceptional drought.

Between college football about to start and this below, I’m trying hard not to despise all things Oklahoma right now.

I hope you can finally get a nice slow soaker. I'm pullin' for ya.

I am too Mark, but I’m pulling more for me !:D BTW, the 2” rain is back in tonight’s forecast. I ain’t holding my breath but I put more stock in a days forecast than three days away.

Well as of today we are now the wettest year in history for the area. Just 3 years ago in an Exceptional drought thru the year. Go figure.

That’s pretty wild. We ended up with almost 4” yesterday with more coming today

Raining all around me and I’m getting drizzle. Looks like we may be getting a better rain this afternoon though. Lord, I hope so ! I was gonna do a little spraying this week but looks like that’s out, at least today and tomorrow. I’ll gladly give that up for some good precip though.

It is now about 1:20 pm and has been raining pretty hard for 20 minutes ! Looks like we’re gonna get a nice rain. Thank you Lord !

I hope the meteorologist imbeciles are wrong.

It’s the same thing here. I’m going to be waiting until hunting season starts to broadcast my grains.

But thank god for ladino clover and chicory. Somehow that’s holding on strong and withstanding heavy browse pressure.

The most used phrase in SE Kansas lately: “What the crap?” That’s a heavily redacted version…
Last week the larger portion of OK and Northern Texas got big rain. MO and AR get rain almost weekly. Today, after being told we’re gonna have a good chance for rain this week, no wait…. you’re gonna get no rain. This is what the radar looks like. NE Kansas gonna get another good soaking I bet.

KSQ2, you ain’t living right ! Take it from a guy who knows, everyone on each side of me got 5”/6” and I got 2 1/4”. I think that was due to my wonderful wife, or maybe Ole Sarge…….
