Not smart enough to post pics from my phone so updating now. Son killed his first bow buck with a perfect double lung shot at 20 yards. Texted me and said he had to sit down after the shot he was shaking so bad. He's killed a lot of big critters over the years but mostly long range stuff. The close encounter was a different experience for him. Buck ran north and sounded like a moose going across the river. We found out later why that was.

He then sat in truck while I hunted a couple of days. Another target buck chased does around the truck while I sat in a tree 400 yards away lol. Great hunt though and I enjoyed the video he took of the one chasing.

Well my Deer will NEVER compare to what you guys got to hunt.

My lease is very overgrown Pines with terrible soil.

Anyways, after my 3rd All Day Sit, one of my target Bucks for this year decided to come visit on Sunday night.

Shot felt good and I had good then great blood for aways then it started blocking up.

I followed him as far as I could, then marked it and left him go overnight. 30* temps in North Florida I knew he’d be alright.

Just to be safe I called my Tracker Team and one of them came out to help with Three Blood Trained Tacking Dogs.

They found him about 70 yards past where I left off, but without them I doubt I would of found him.

I was 10-feet from him and my Tracker was 4-feet from him before we saw him. That’s how thick that Cypress Swamp he ran into is.

I thought from the cam pics he was a Funky 6, but my Grandson said he had 7 so 7-points it is.

It always amazes me how Big they cam look on Pics and in the woods, but when you lay hands on them they end up smaller.

Still the Biggest Florida Buck I’ve taken yet, so I’m Happy.

Nice job and perfect shot. I can only imagine tracking a deer thru those thickets. Congrats

Slow morning so far wind is absolutely brutal. Supposed to slow down this evening, cold front coming through tonight got high hopes for tomorrow.

Few pics from the stand so far. Pond and beehives in the distance. The food plot heads on down before eventually running into the apple orchard.

I am 3/4 way back into our property on a nice wooded flat. I am bowhunting because our rifle season doesn’t open till Saturday. It was 70 degrees with a south wind at 1:00 and now it is 50 with a 20 mph north wind. My west neighbor is sighting in their rifle about 200 yards to my left (west). Game cameras show very little activity the past week.

Must be in the air. Chuck and I haven't saw 1 deer between both of us today and I only saw a 6pt and a doe Sunday.
Maybe the front will get them moving tomorrow.

I hunted yesterday temps upper 20s. Covered up w chasing bucks including several shooter 8s all morning. But the 9 I wanted was a no show.
70 deg today so I golfed. Full moon and warm temps a no go for me. And naturally had a 10 pt dancing around the golf course paying us no mind.
And yes we can hunt in this golf community. Maybe I should carry a bow w my clubs??
