Stone Branch, build it, they will come.

You shouldn’t post pics of that plant or you’ll have sengers crawlin everywhere.

I understand but the crawlers crawl with or without pictures. Truth is I spend hours looking with no success. Most people in Kentucky outside of Lewis county think that they will get bit by a timber rattle snake if the get out of their cars in Lewis county.

3 days ago me and Tiny headed up this hill.

About the third tree that I put the hack hammer into Tiny was sliding across the forest floor and I was standing in a cloud of yellowjackets. Being a cooler fall day we got out pretty easy.

The mission was two fold, kill trees

and find a snake. No snakes.

2 days ago we went up the hill right off our porch.

Again, a sunny rocky aspect but no snakes. Tiny was getting snaky.

Tank came up another logging trail to join us.

That's a shovel op!

Oh, you guys, you'll never meet a friendlier snake then that one.

I was down in Flat Gap yesterday morning, no deer.

I found these on the trail back.

My big boy has returned since I have finished working up there a while back.

I saw that you said "killing" something, and I instantly thought, HE GOT THAT BIG BUCK! But nope, only a red maple. :) Not even the snake...

Buck is looking good!

I don't see that buck making a big enough mistake to allow my to kill him.

My property line runs the very top of the ridge above my work area.

Looking over the property line into 1000 acres slated to be clear cut. I will eventually be hunting up there.

I think this is your year to get this guy. Most bucks will have some point during the season where they will give you an opportunity. We'd rather see pics of fresh tenderloins on your plate than rattlesnake:)

I would have been real tempted to touch off the smoke pole on that coyote.

That coyote may have crapped his pants but got away. I had another trio and another single pass by after that one. I have an over abundance of coyotes. I am reluctant to shoot coyotes while I'm looking for a deer. I may go up today looking for coyotes.
