Has anyone checked Ammo prices today?

Just time and diesel. Indeed, I’ve had kids who were coming back from college help (wouldn’t do much good right now given the empty shelves in most places). Before the Kung flu madness/social unrest tightened the supply, I’d planned a road trip to PA (CT isn’t an option as they’ll only sell ammo to residents with permit to acquire ammo). I travel to CO for work regularly but you are limited by the airlines to a couple boxes of ammo in your checked luggage. Living in NY and traveling through NYC airports, I feel compelled to pay attention to such things:(

Just recently I grabbed a 100 case of 12 ga at wally world for $21.74, so there's still ammo for sale in PA.

I found large rifle primers Friday. The gal who owns the shop is rationing them at 2 boxes of 100 per customer. She said she doesn't have a source for any more at this time.
She was fair with the pricing. $3.95 per box plus tax.
My son called Saturday morning and she was all out.

What is to prevent you from hauling it in from elsewhere?
If you live in NY State you can go to another state, buy ammunition if they allow sales to out of stater's and bring it back into the state. Internet sales are not allowed according to our illustrious governor's "Safe Act" which passed in January of 2013.
This narrows the selection and availability.

Going out of state might be the only option. I have checked everywhere locally for 20 ga sabot's throughout summer for my daughters Savage 220 to sight in a month before gun season. I avoid Dick's unless I have to but being the only place I hadn't looked, I drove there this weekend and all they have for slugs is 2 different flavors of Federal 12 ga. No Remington, Winchester etc.
Is it just places like NY that aren't restocking ammo? Walmart only had like 20-30 boxes of total ammo of a few different calibers. I would hate to drive 3-4 hours to Pa only to find they don't have ammo either.

If you are desperate enough to pay extortionate prices, gunbroker.com has about anything you might need. However, in NY, you have to have it sent a FFL. My local gun store will do it free of charge because there’s no paper work to fill out.

I am not entirely out but 7 bullets isn't much to sight in and hunt with :) this is a good option though I will have to consider. Thank you sir!!

I unearthed a few clues on the ammo shortages. I have a cousin who owns a hardware store in WVA and he said that him and the other mom and pop hardware stores can't get their ammo orders filled from the distributor so they're buying everything they can get online from Cabelas and all the other big names, then marking up 30% and selling locally.
He talked about going online every day to see if any popped up overnight, and then taking it all.
I am wondering how much of this is going on with other items besides ammo...

Well on the GOOD Side of all this, I did Hear President Trump say the other night that when he took over he had some Generals come to him and say that they Had Guns, but No Ammo. What's a Military without any Ammo?

So he said that They had been buying up ammo, and that now they have so much ammo they don't need to worry about stocking up any more.

When the Government puts in an Ammo Order, the Manufactures will jump to make sure to get the Order and they get first dibs. Maybe now the supply will build back up.

I’m not shooting nearly as much as I typically would. I’m in decent shape on the ammo side, but have seriously considered paying outrageous prices for primers (I’ve got plenty of bullets/powder). The world is crazy...and if polls are anywhere near correct, online ammo, gun parts and reloading components will all be at risk. FYI, we’ve been subject of online ammo ordering prohibition since just after Sandy Hook. It sucks as local gun stores rarely have ammo for my Weatherbys or more unusual cartridges like my 7mmSTW. What really pisses me off is the prohibition was put in place so they could run background checks on all ammo purchases. The thing is, they’ve never funded the ammo background check process. It’s clear to me this was always just a hoax to chip away at gun rights....

One thing I love about this forum is we keep politics out, plenty of that everywhere else. I just want to say that I wouldn’t put any weight on the polls. We all know how accurate they were last election. The Trafalgar Group which correctly called the 2016 election is showing very different results than most polling again this election. I believe lots of polls are meant to influence opinion rather than measure it, and ultimately impact voter turn out. “An informed citizenry is at the heart of a dynamic democracy” - Jefferson.

I've had polling people call me in the past and they were really upsetting in the way that they tried to twist my words around to say the opposite of what I was saying, and tried to influence my thinking with suggestive questions.
If the polls are as inaccurate this time as they were the last time, they're going to lose a lot of credibility, if they still had any credibility left after they said whatever Hillary wanted them to say in 2016.
And, as far as getting political, I'm not really into politics, but I find it interesting how liberals have talked down to Trump voters for over 4 years now, making it sound like the typical Trump voter is a hayseed who has no teeth, when the fact is that half of the voters voted for him. It seems to me like talking down to someone is not how you make them come over to your way of thinking, it's probably just going to make them really dislike you.

Delivered today...that was quick! I feel much better now....still don't have "enough" but it's better. Not sure you ever have "enough"...and I know you certainly can't have "too much"!

Shot shell prices in my zip code are up 100%.

Trap loads last year = $6. This year = $11.50. Guess no league this year.
