That's thinning pines and using the trees for a deer fence. There won't be many deer crossing that row during the next 5 years.

I watched one of my loggers from afar one day and he used that technique to steer some trees down but he only took out three at a time. The avalanche guy in your video really pulled that off well. The balanced trees and even ground were definitely in his favor though.

Ain’t that the truth. I think we can make final cut at top of ridge then they fall down the mountain from there. I’m game if you are!
