Interesting property

I eat enough fish, plus lots of icecream, plus lots of milk, so I'm probably good on vitamin D. But thanks for the heads up, healthy living equals feeling great. BTW, venison has a lot of vitamins too. Venison has 50% less fat than beef, making it a healthier red meat alternative. And where's it's low in fat, it's high in protein—that's why eating venison is great for anyone trying to build lean muscle.

What - no liver? .

Being fat adapted I prefer my venison on the chubbier side.

Another Keto guy here. Curious what your reason is for becoming fat adapted. I've been fat adapted for about 11 months now. On Keto for almost 13 months. I do it for the endurance benefits.

I went low carb for the first time 5 years ago then discovered if I replace the carb calories with fat it's called ketosis. I use it for weight loss, vanity, health, and the benefits of having a ready available power supply. Right now I'm back into some resistance training and low carb. I'm not strict keto, I cycle in and out of ketosis. I eat once a day at 5pm 6 out of 7 days. I pretty much match grams of fat with grams of protein.

13 months is good long time to be on keto. I ate a big helping of brown rice after my first ever six months of keto. One thing that I had to figure out on my own and you may have also is that you can watch the keto guy dead lift 600 pounds but they don't tell you that they also take a drug store worth of supplements.

I did all that you talked about in your previous post for virtually all my life. Six to seven days a week getting not only my hands dirty, but the rest of my body too. Now, it’s time to enjoy what little life I have left. Why just this morning (and yesterday morning too), I got on my backhoe and made life a little easier for a crew that’s pouring a slab under the lean-to off my shop. That made me happy and them happier !:) Tomorrow I have to go get my tractor and disc some food plots if it’s not too wet. Sometime soon though, I’ll lay all this aside and basically hunt until the first of the year. I’ll try really hard to get some of that lean protein in my freezer. About three of them should last until next year about this time. In between, I’ll be catching some fish just so we don’t get tired of venison. (FAT CHANCE !):D

I'm wondering how strict that you are on carbs and how you have avoided the pitfalls?

I'm very strict on my carbs and the only pitfalls I've noticed is when I pop out of ketosis. I have bloodwork done every 6 months to check on cholesterol levels. The first 3 months I had quite a jump but those levels have come down considerably. Just got my latest results back this morning.

I've been eating gluten free for 10 years because gluten makes me feel ill. Super strict, read all labels and try to avoid processed foods altogether. Gluten hides in a lot of things, but I never cheat.

I firmly believe the greatest determinant of happiness and life satisfaction is financial security ..... and large numbers of folks in our society lack it ... some through the faults of others and some through the faults of their own. When you can do what you want (in general) and when you want (total control) anxiety and stress are greatly reduced and every day is another pleasure. But what do I know, I'm still grinding it out! Peace brothers.
