Anyone have experience with this machine? Just looking for a reliable workhorse for our property. Will be used for cultipacking (packer Maxx), spraying and hauling equipment and seed.

I should mention I (we) have decided to manage our property with an ATV. A tractor will almost certainly be in our future (4-7 years) but for now, I just can't justify the cost. I plan to purchase an ATV, sprayer, packer-maxx, and "firewood" trailer. I'll likely add a drip torch and blower this winter to round out my management equipment.

I've got one. It's a couple years old. It has started right up quickly every year even after sitting in a cold metal shipping container in far Northern MN all Winter. My neighbors all have the Grizzly. Theirs are nicer for trail riding on open paths. The Kodiak seems smaller. It's definitely got a lower saddle. I think it's easier to get on and off all day than theirs.

There are days when I wish I had something smaller, but it's not when I'm pulling a trailer full of lime.

I'm a yammy guy, and I do have a grizzly 700, but do most of my ATV farming with a Kodiak 450. The difference in springs isn't much, and the extra power isn't needed for spraying and spinning seed, which are the two main chores for the ATV, most of this work is done in low range anyway, and I really like the handling of the 450. I had a 2003 Kodiak 450 with 4000 miles on it and I never had any trouble with it, one day I started thinking what great service I got out of this machine and how it's going to start needing repairs soon, so I traded it in on the exact same new 2019 machine, $2500 trade off of $6995, hopefully I get 4000 trouble free miles off of the new one. Here's a pic of the old one and a stock pic of the new one. For cultipacking I'd probably buy the Kodiak 700.

We had an 04 Kodiak and loved it. We have a couple Grizzlys (660 and 700 w/ EPS) and really love them. I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on the Kodiak. Depending on your use, the EPS can be worth the extra coin. I wouldn’t buy another SxS or ATV without it.

If you haven't bought New yet, take a look around at the Used Market. Now some folks think their Used is as good as Gold, but if you take some time to look around you can quite often find a real deal on a used machine. And you usually only get a 6-month Warranty on a New Machine anyway.

I was looking for something at least 420 (Rancher) and up to a 500-600, when I came across the one I bought, a 2007 Polaris Sportsman 700 with EFI. Had only 240 hrs on it and the guy only used it to pull his Deer out each year.

It looked like new and really is. Still has the Original Tires on and they still have tits left on some areas. He was asking $3,000.00 and when I called him he said he wouldn't take less than $2,500. I went and got it that day.

I use it on our place to Disc and Drag for Food Plots, Haul Stands, just about Everything. Took and Hand Deer Cart and welded a tongue on it and use it behind to tow out Deer.

I would like the EPS though and if buying new it would have it.
