Fertilizer on an existing clover plot

Do I have to time a rain storm this time of the year when spreading fertilizer on an existing clover plot? Or am I ok to spread it anytime since the temps are still in the 40-60’s?

Won’t need nitrogen so spread the P and K whenever you like as you won’t lose it to the atmosphere and it takes time for it to work...

Perfect, 200 pounds of P and 1250 pounds of lime. The deer are already pounding it and it’s just starting to really turn green.

Next question,

I’m planting chufa this spring, what’s the magic window for spreading fertilizer? should I spread it now and disc it in with the lime or should I wait until I plant?

Where do you get sulphur? Also, what is your typical application rate?
Best source for what we do is gypsum. It's one of only two sulfur sources we can get that has built in pH neutrality being bound to calcium ions. If you have organic matter north of 5%, you could do 200 lbs/ac. If you're under 5%, I'd do 300 lbs/ac.

The other is epsom salt, but I've never seen/found an affordable way to get a fertilizer quantity. I have used epsom salt on some trees in extremely sandy spots, but that was mostly farting around.

Spreading P and K sooner is better than later. Granulated fertilizer usually has some sulfur content. I spread 400 lb acre o 0-20-20 on my clover in mid- March, according to soil testing.
