    Stocking pheasant and quail......any experiences?

I've got property up in mn and was talking to a pheasants forever guy. He told me they release pheasants right before they lay their eggs. I guess the thought is to not get the released pheasants to keep alive but the next generation. Wild hens will adopt orphan chicks and help them survive. He...

How far is to far gone when it comes to an apple tree?

I would wait until spring to fertilize apple trees. If you fertilize in late summer or fall the trees may go into a late flush of growth and not be able to harden off in time before winter and get damaged during the winter. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930AZ using Tapatalk

    Three unknowns.

I actually love prickly ash. Deer use it on my mn property as a winter food and since it grows on my field edge it discourages trespassers and lookeelews from going in my woods. Good stuff. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930AZ using Tapatalk

    Amazing

I miss dipper. He was the ultimate of the ultimates. Nobody had better hunting then him, nobody knew better then him, and nobody shot better deer. Alas that kind of perspective is rare indeed.

    Improving rifle accuracy

It's made out of titanium and adds a little over 12 ounces. You get used to the weight after using it for a while. It's on a dpms lr-10 in .243 and it shoots like a .22 lr. I was able to watch that buck fall over after the shot with such little recoil.

    Improving rifle accuracy

Or get a suppressor and take care of both recoil and noise. Practice is the only way to get past a flinch. Use those snap caps and concentrate on your squeeze and sight picture instead of just trying to pull the trigger.

What do you think this guy will score?

Love the pics. They're honest and genuine. I'd say it goes around 140.

    buying new gun need help

I use the berger 87 grain vld hunting bullets in my .243 and they knock deer down without a problem. 150 yards and he took about 2 steps.

Never seen a coyote like this!

That, or something along the lines of a piebald if it exists in coyotes.

    Checking rifles before season

I reload and shoot year round so my rifles get used quite frequently. I love to play with loads and try different bullet, powder, and primer combinations. So far the best accuracy comes from berger bullets and a number of different powders. I've got a few different rifles I shoot but my favorite...

What kind of tree is this?

Red pine won't make a good screen once they get bigger because they start to lose their lower limbs as they get older. I'd try planting a tight mix of white, blue, and Norway Spruce. That way if one type doesn't grow the others should and you can also thin them out as they grow.

    What happened to my brassicas

What's your deer density? Do you have an exclusion cage put up? Did you check for browsing in the plot? Any pics?
