Thanks all - that .10 area is one of about 4 food plots on the property total about 2 acres. Always striving to add more. Time is the limiting factor. Property 3 hrs away.

Planted a brassica mix in mid July. Mostly rape and purple top turnips. Looks Ike heavy browse pressure already(approx .10 acre). Also area flooded after heavy rains. Should I start from scratch? I have a blend of winter rye, wheat and peas with some brassicas I can use. Or will

Thanks this was planted all at once July 20th. Was thinking more about the brassicas and when they work best by me.

Every time I plant grains or have them in a blend they seem to get ignored by the deer. Tried again this. Here is a pic of a plot (blend) where the grains (wheat and rye) are 5ft tall turnips and other brassicas in it too . Is this an issue or normal? In upstate NY.

I could not find the bugs. One 1/4 acre plot no leaves left. I don’t leave near the property and if I’m gone a few weeks. I may not know it even started.
If army worms or other is there a way to prevent it?

This is 2 yrs in a row that i has bugs demolish the leaves in a brassica plot. Up until mid September all looks good. Then I get back to the property a few weeks later and the little critters have done their damage. Both years I could find the actual bugs that caused the damage but the evidence...
Thanks- do you think it is too late to get the cuttings in the ground in upstate NY ( hunting property)? Or should I put them in the garden bed at home and move in the spring ?
