    Clover mowing

I look at your wonderful plot and see the deer still feeding in there. You can listen to this podcast and if you want, start at 15:40 to listen to the reasons, not to mow, or at least not till the fall...

    Seeder/Drill help

Yeah, nothing is cheap any more. Just giving you some idea on what is out there and what some of the capabilities are. With a 45 HP tractor and it's lifting capability, might limit you with anything using a 3 point hitch, width and weight wise.

    Seeder/Drill help

So, that gives you something to think about and if you check out some of those auction websites, you can get an idea on price and maybe one will show up closer to you. Chances are pretty good a used no-till would be more expensive and would take a bigger tractor to pull it. What size of...

    Seeder/Drill help

The quick answer to your question, if it can be used as a "no-till" drill the answer is no. But there are "maybes and possibles" in there, but it was really designed to plant in worked up ground. Now you are heading in the right direction. The Facebook drill only has a seed box. In real life...

    Seeder/Drill help

This appears to be a single disc opener type of seed drill, which makes it ....... old. It used to be longer, but has been cut down. Seed box is pretty rusty inside which (to me) means it hasn't been used in a while and not maintained. I don't see where the "adjuster" is, to vary the amount of...

Question For Throw & Mow Experts

Well, sorry, I couldn't get the next picture to load, but in 3 weeks all that grass was laying down, but a cultipacker would surely get it started in the right direction.

Question For Throw & Mow Experts

Just for some thought. I use a weed wiper/weed wick with a 50/50 solution of glyphosate. It "might" set the clover back a little, but clover is hard to kill. I don't know what equipment you have but I mount it on front of a 4 wheeler and if you had a pull type cultipacker, I would pull it...

Yes, good plan ... just a thought for Weekender21 if "crust" became an issue.

    Soil updates, need advice

"Before I did anything, I would get more knowledgeable people in your specific area, to help you make decisions on what to do, for your specific soil". I did some research a few years ago and I could get some trucked in, from 50 miles away. I did not do that because the quantities I needed...

    Soil updates, need advice

Too much magnesium also makes your soil crust a little easier and harder for broadcast seeds to penetrate and grow. http://www.agtest.com/articles/highmg_soils.pdf If it becomes a problem, adding gypsum and working it into the soil, might be a solution.

    Round Up rain test (Unplanned)

It will be an interesting test. Was everything actively growing when it was sprayed? How cool was it? All might have a bearing on the kill.

Best roller or cultipacker for atv

LOL, and you can see what the soil looked like, before cultipacking. The air was taken out of the fluffy soil, but the soil "after" is not packed down tight.
