    2017 Oklahoma Hunting Report

I did not make it out today as my wife just had our second boy. Will be at the house for the next 3-4 weeks I think. I did get Robbie hunt last Sunday after that cold front blouses through and say lots of activity, does and a few smaller bucks. I believe if I could have stayed in the stand all...

    Millet Planting for ducks

I waited it out, and the Millet did die and fall over. The near drought conditions didn't help either as it seems to had killed all my smartweed as well. Oh well, I learn best by trial and error. I can hope that what millet is left will float when it is flooded in November and be accessible...

    Millet Planting for ducks

I have a question for any you that have planted, grown, or hunter extensively over millet for waterfowl...I planted millet last year in our 6ac impoundment. and flooded it about 14-16in on avg. The millet apparently re-seeded itself and have now an incredible, mature stand of millet. The only...

I went out Saturday AM with the muzzleloader. It finally felt like fall that morning with lows in the 80'same. Hunited the wetland where is seeded rye and winter wheat on the top and sides of the dike. Saw 9 does and a forked horn buck. Towards the end the little buck started chasing a doe...

Question. How long after a deer expires does the venison go bad?

In 90degree Temps, 2-3 hours would be pushing it for me, before gutting. When it's colder, like in november(30-50degrees) I would be OK on pushing the limit to 4-6, maybe even later if it close to freezing that night. However, I always work to recover the deer shortly after a shot, and gut with...

I went yesterday evening and didn't see a thing! Early season on the small plot is normally pretty active, but maybe this year it's different

Acorns are spotty, but we were in the southern part of that little drought band though...they are really hitting the feed heavier than past years so I do believe there is some food shortage.

Great Buck Okie! I went out opening morning and saw a really skin-and-bones doe and yearling. They came in to my barely-growing food plot @ 09:30 and my feeder was bone dry after filling 300# of protein feed only a few weeks ago. Not much drawing them in I guess....wont go out this weekend as I...
