    Soil PH

Our Acorn Crop was HUGE this year and as of mid December they were still dropping. Pics at Plots were at an all time low.

    Doe in heat scents

While I personally have not had great success with it, I know of several that have. Mostly by using a Drag Rag behind them to their Stand then Swinging it it the air several times then hang it on a branch. They said the Buck came right to them.

    Hunting crossbow for under $500

I have a Barnett FX2 bought within your price range and it has been a great hunting tool. Not as fast as some that reach 400 fps+ but in the 380 range. I have shot 3 deer with it and recovered all 3. First dropped within 40 yards. Rest went a bit further but all were under 100 yrds easy. I...

    Nw flordia rut?

They begin to Rub usually in October and will be Hard Horned by Mid October. Forget EVERYTHING you know about hunting Deer when you are in that part of the world. Although they are Hard Horned and will be rubbing trees in October and possibly start Scrapes the Rut Activity heats up any time...

    Nw flordia rut?

NW Florida and the Panhandle Aera is a whole different deal. Rut there can be from mid to late December to early March. Really depends on What County you are in. My Area in Washington County tends to fall in the 1st or 2nd week of February.

Pretty excited...hunting Pheasants for the 1st time!

Loved Hunting them in Pa as a kid. One Special Memory was when my Great Aunt came to visit for a few days and when I left that morning I told her and Mom that I would be back with two Roosters. LOL. Big Talk for a kid. My old Collie Dog would hunt anything but he loved Squirrels and Pheasant...

IT TAKES TWICE THE LAND TO GROW 3 YEAR OLD BUCKS AS IT DOES TO GROW 2 YEAR OLD BUCKS

On our small 80 acres of leased Pine Tree Farm with very chitty soil, in the 5-6 years that we have had it I've seen a great difference in the Deer Movement and Size of Bucks. We had really One Decent Plot Area until I added Feeders into the Mix and the last 2 years we saw a great increase in...

    Young Fawn in December

What County are you in, in the Panhandle? I've had pics of Very Young Fawns that had to have been just dropped in late August through early September in Washington County. Our Rut for the most part runs the Middle of February and Does can still be getting bred into March. Personally if it...

Buck is back from vacation, only shows late

Even on 80 Acres you can find and set Several Great Stand Sites. IMO, Hunting the SAME Stand each time you go is a huge mistake and they WILL Pattern You just like you are trying to Pattern Them. By having multiple Stands set you have OPTIONS. Options like where the Wind is blowing that day...

    Help with lease neighbors

I lease 80 acres and the first thing I did when I got it was look into the Land Records to see who owned the land around me. Turns out it was just two families. I wrote letters to both men and one responded and we have kept in touch now for years. He owns about 300 acres that fit around me on 3...

    Northwest Florida Deer hunters

As to Rut and Rut Related Movement. I also hunt the West Panhandle Area in Washington Co. In This Area guys report that the Rut can be anytime from Mid December to Late February-- and it Totally Depends on where you are, as it actually varies by County and even spots within a county. Our Area...

    Northwest Florida Deer hunters

Well hunting Deer here is a Whole New Ball Game. They don't move like most Deer do, IE Out to Grain Fields in the Evening, Back to Bedding in the Mornings--- Unless you have out a Good Food Plot or live near a Farm. Here they still move Morning and Night but they might bed Here tonight and a...

The end of 17 years of QDM

Add to that what is called Black Power which is the HEAT that is created from the Black Surface of the Panels done so to attract the Sun. They get HOT just like anything else Black laid in the Sun does. It's a real Factor that is just now starting to be discussed.

The end of 17 years of QDM

I've seen a BUNCH of these Solar Farms being built here in Florida and they usually say What Power Company they are for: Duke Energy- Florida Power and Light- ETC. I'd contact the Main Power Company local to you to find out for sure if they are part of it before signing any Contract.
