Planting 13 acres of beans on the 19th of may. Renting a great plains 706 NT from the local county extension. Time is a small issue so wondering if my 2 ideas are stupid or safe. #1) i am broadcasting 3 bags per acre of 0-20-20. Since there is no nitrogen can i do this a week ahead of time...

I did something similar with my azaleas. Simply placed a single small rock on the low hanging branches and covered with mulch.....the next year each one gave me a new plant. I had 24 to plant at my farm.....trouble now is the deer are eating them!

I'm going all in this summer on their milpa mix.

Same story, different chapter for me. I have hundreds of pounds of chestnuts falling and the hogs eat 90% of them.

Thx Triple C.....trouble I've had is that the winter grains are just ending their life and beginning to melt away at that time....making herbicide application quite difficult. The young summer grasses are #1 not even visable and #2 hard to physically spray.

What are some recommendations for the companion/nurse crops ratios? feel free to critic my plan, I will be applying: 5lbs/acre durana 70 lbs/acre Oats 10 lbs/acre crimson clover. I am trying to keep it simple and give the durana the best conditions to get established in its first year.

mine grow wild and form thickets. once established they are tough....fire, bush hog, herbicide.....they keep coming back.

I don't know what type it is....it seems like an anomaly. some fruit turns deep purple, most dont. they all taste the same when ripe. they can be yellow, orange, red or purple when perfectly ripe and they all taste the same. they really are beautiful and delicious. it is the one wild...

summer update: Farm to Table! I've killed several pigs this summer Farm to table again, the girls and i picked several gallons of plums, they had a blast making jelly I used this yesterday on the clover plots, hoping it works. It seemed as though it wasn't applying quite enough...

I have 2 perenial clover plots that are I need of a little help. long story short I have about 50% coverage of clover. what does one do in the fall on a perennial clover plot they want to continue? super light disking and replant with more clover and a nurse crop then culitpack? no...

only time I have almost tipped was when the ROPS clipped a large tree branch. Scary because I didn't know what was causing the front eND to climb off the ground.
