I hope this was misreported.

I just heard a news report that claimed that the newly elected governor of Virginia has signed or passed a law that prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from owning, firing or even holding a firearm of any kind. It specifically eliminates the any and all youth hunts. I didn't catch quite all of the discussion, so I'm not sure if this is immediately or if it has just been proposed. Even if that is the case, with the takeover of the entire House and Senate, it will pass easily.

Any of our Virginia peeps heard about this?

That sucks and is a scary thought to have. Isn't Virginia a huge military and hunting state? It seems that it is unlikely to be a popular law there.

Misreported. There was a bill proposed and defeated.

If passed, that would be the most ignored law in the history of the Country.

Link me to that bill or news of it? Please? I'm very concerned about the responses of the losers (Republicans, conservatives, rural residents) in this latest election. It seems to me the inflammatory pre-election rhetoric mobilized the opposition, and put hunters and legitimate gun enthusiasts in Virginia in a bad place. Now, it's even worse. Personally, I think we need a new strategy and a new message. One of my friends posted a Facebook message, "REVOLUTION!" Lets think about that for a moment. If we don't do any better with it than we did in the elections, we are (you pick he word that most sounds like ducked).

Northam has proposed a lot of drastic gun control measures as well as raising the legal hunting age to 18. I assume it will be a sponsored bill next year and will pass with the liberal takeover we just had, thanks to the Obama era “redistricting”
I’m afraid for what the future holds for our state. Too many ppl with their head in the sand who despise politics (myself included ) who think these drastic measures can’t or won’t happen. It is truly heartbreaking to me to see the direction this state and country are headed.
We have elected officials who think it’s ok to keep a newborn baby comfortable until parents decide if they want to perform abortion but are coming for our guns and our right to enjoy the outdoors with our children.

I don't have a link and can't look for one at the moment. The story was all over FB, several people replied and the most compelling evidence to the contrary was a screen shot of an NRA post listing it as defeated.

Bloomberg spent 2.5 million dollars in Virginia to assure that Dems would be elected. He outspent the NRA 8:1. There is now, from what I’ve read, a majority of anti-gun politicos in the statehouse with a governor that is ready and willing to sign whatever anti-gun legislation that they come up with. If not now, then next year.

We are in the minority big time ! Texas is now purple owing to all the transplants that are coming here to work and bringing their political beliefs with them. It will soon be blue. I don’t know what the answer is or even if there is one. Personally, I don’t think there is. Conservatives for the most part, are working people who try to mind their own business, raise their families, and enjoy life. They are mostly not activists. Liberals on the other hand seem to be more concerned with what other folks are doing, correcting, by law, what THEY think is not correct, and generally being obnoxious. They are the squeaky wheel !

If we are to turn the tide, we’ll have to turn out at the polls and turn them out to pasture. I’m gonna dismount my soapbox now before I get too mad.........

Take this from somebody that isn’t an armchair quarterback, but is actually an elected official—-the time for correcting this at the ballot box is past. You have lost your freedom. You just don’t know it yet.

I think that's the kind of thinking that got us into this mess....For some reasons, we lost the ballot box. And don't blame it all on demographics. From where I sit, it looks like our team "leaders" lead us into an ambush.

Any of y’all believe in coincidences? Look at where the mass shootings occur. In states that are purple or one the verge of becoming so. And soon thereafter they are blue—Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Ohio. The communists said they’d take this country without firing a shot—-by using our own rights against us. Why do you think China hasn’t called in their debt? The ONLY thing that stops them is the 2A. And the only way to get rid of that is to have the people DEMAND it. The only way to do that is instill a constant fear of guns. If you think for one minute that the deep-state, communists insurgents in this country won’t sacrifice your kids to reach that goal, you ARE the problem.

My Grandmother used to tell us kids that when someone is giving or promising you something for nothing, especially if it's a politician, don't concentrate on what you're getting. Think long and hard about what you're giving up instead.

Why would politicians be concerned about taking away our guns now, after it has been fine for all these years, unless they were gonna do something to us we would want to shoot them for!!!!

Fear mongering for votes. People who are fat, happy, and content lack initiative... people who are frightened and scared seek action. Advertise a fear and promise the solution = votes.
